first rep on 315 i felt from the insertion a pop/crack. dropped it instantly to my chest and had someone lift it off.
no visible damage or any indent i can feel but afterwards it was painfull just doing pushups from the knees.
maybe the inertion was about to pop off and I let it go just in time?? guess its best not to do any chest for the next month or so :(

I guess but bench is also considered the ultimate strength test so don't really want to stop benching.
never had any mishaps with bench before. think its because I'm low carb and wasn't hydrated enough

It happens to me often unfortunately. Layoff heavy bench or chest altogether for a month or so. If pain persists go to doc.

Well,if you`re one of those guys that has the natural propensity to be a big bencher,that`s different,but for most cats,it`s an ego/injury thing.

is stretching good or bad idea? massage?

Why work out with heavy weight numskull, just do more reps instead, this ain't no game, and the body no toy. Because we been granted more mental power and direction than the body can withstand comes great diligence and responsibility.
I use less weight and more haven't lost strength and notice only benefits in all possible ways. Why ever max out with weights, to see if you can break your body?

You got to take precautions I strain my back last week myself, that is why its good to workout in a hot sweaty gym you warm up better, posters like effervescent are going to get fucked cause they like to workout in AC sissy gyms.

stretching never helped me. massage, rest and ibuprofen did help.

simply REST. Bench press is a great exercise but i have always said and believed Parallel Bar Dips leaning slightly Forward are better. V-Bar Dips for some even better. gironda style i would not recomend.

I think it's this low carb shit honestly.. not enough glycogen and water in the muscles. good for cutting but not working out... think I'll only bench heavy on calorie surplus from now on..

Only Bench press Variation i find not good is presses to the neck or so called Guillotine press.

I felt same thing doing weighted dips.Stopped the second I felt the twinge, turns out I tore my pec but it was a small tear in belly (not insertion thank fuck) of pec.
Got a few physio sessions and stopped training chest for 6 months. Got told my chest looked huge after ??? ???
