Just a holding a little water weight precontest. Will come right off with clean dieting and some cardio. No problem.

There comes a point of no return. Dude lost 400 pounds and still weighed over 800 :-\
They need to study his body. I don't see how it's possible to get that fat.

Yeah, someone must bring food to the person day in and day out, of course, since the person is immobile.
So these stories always have weird psychological angles attached to them.

No shit, he still had to eat like an elephant to weigh that much. But we're not talking about 400 - 500 pounds, which is already considered morbid obesity, he weighed 1230 pounds in his prime. Most fatsos couldn't even digest enough food to weigh that much.

for example, instead of eating two oranges for a snack, they will eat 1-2 dozen. also, they all have thyroxine production issues.

If he couldn't get out of bed, how did they weigh him?

-
If he couldn't get out of bed, how did they weigh him?
They used a forklift and put him in the back of a flatbed truck and ran the truck over some truck scales, then they subtracted the weight of the truck.

where:
F is the force between the masses,
G is the gravitational constant,
mf is the mass of the fatty,
m2 is the second mass, and
r is the distance between the centers of the masses.
m2 would be the earth's mass, r the distance from the centre of the earth to the centre of the fat guy, G is known (6.674×10−11 N m2 kg−2) and the gravitational pull between the two bodies was known so from this they were able to calculate mf, mass of the fatty.
-
If he couldn't get out of bed, how did they weigh him?
They weighed the whole room..
and then subtracted the weight once the Commercial Crane came and lifted him out the wall they had to cut down to get him out ~

The fact that this organism lived for 48 years is a testament to the amazing biological capabilities of the human body. Fascinating how he was able to survive that long, aided of course by modern medicine and the sickening tolerance of contemporary society.

Hippo and Herne are still posting, right? So it wasn't one of them after all.

Manuel Aribe and many others were featured on the Discovery Channels 'My 600 Pound Life" Most of the people were on state assistance as well as food stamps. Not sure how it works in Mexico where Manuel was from but the majority of other obese people that were featured on the show we on assistance.
A big part of all of this was the bypass surgery done by a surgeon who is one of only a few that will risk the operation on people this big.The surgery of course was also provided by the state
The surgeon Dr. Jonathan Nowzaradan with one of his patients.

-
I'm just waiting for Kwon to post a gif of this guy's ass shaking.

Saw some episodes of that show, i think only one person was able to successfully lose the weight after surgery:
There's another person who actually gained weight after the surgery, but i couldn't find the episode on line:
