I competed in that show 3 times and judged 3 times. Yes you can use ProTan, etc. Perhaps you would have won if your muscle popped. Outdoors the un-tanned physique looks flat.

It was an honor to meet both of you (his wife is really cool), and thank you for the gift. It was much appreciated. A lot of old school legends come to this spectacle on the beach - Bill Grant, Samir Bannout, Lenda Murray and others.

Ha - I am 6'1". As for the hat, it is freaking sunny out there from 9am to 5pm, when I left. I learned long ago, when I got freaking burned and drained from the sun, that to have a hat on, even with suntan lotion on, is better than being burnt. Even after you take 1,500 pics (and 4,200 on saturday), you still need to resize them, sort them, download them, etc.

met Samir in a barnes & noble in Westwood back in I think '01... dude shook and held my ex's hand for like 3minutes while he told her about the exotic bird calander he bought.
when we said 'bye', I told her "that's Samir BanNOt.. he used to be a bodybuilder" loud enough so he heard me while we turned away... fucken creepy punk.

Laziness and lack of discipline. With shooting 30+ contests a year, minishoots, other events, family and working at DNA Sports 50+ hours a week, the free time I have I try to relax, which isn't easy. No excuses though. I should be on that threadmill more. I plan to once school is out so we don't leave the house at 7:30am to drop them off.
Oh, the gift was very interesting - a Pineapple type of cake... cool... thank you Musclecenter!

Treadmill is an easy way to go from fat to skinnyfat which is not what you want.
What you want is:
1. Keep your diet in check, register on myfitnesspal.com and keep track of all of your meals and shoot for <2500 calories every day.
2. Workout with heavy, compound movements.
3. After you reach BF that does not look bad in clothes add some interval training here and there but don't overdo it.
That's it man, it is REALLY simple.

I enjoyed taking cool pictures. Got into photography and bodybuilding expos/contests from what I do, and found that a lot of people enjoy the mass monster competitors, etc. Photographing various bikini competitors is very cool too, as well as candids and fun shots from the expos / events. All good.
Was never a bodybuilder, but did stay in shape at one time because I enjoyed climbing mountains (aka Mt. Whitney, Kings Canyon, Yosemite, down the Grand Canyon) with a 50 pound backpack on, and played basketball for a while too.

MC displayed a physique 20 years younger and i have to say respect to "Dallas" on the far right in the blue trunks.

The MB judging panel is anything but expert regarding physique. They would not know a correct pose from a constipated spasm. (in the old days the judges were known BB aficionados like Vince Gironda who judged my win) I sat on that panel in the early 90s and was shocked with my fellow judges lack of minimal judging standards. I stopped judging when my fellow judges gave the win in one weight class to a baby smooth Vet (Memorial Day....OK) who had to look at his fellow competitors to see what it was the head judge was calling for.
