Title: Sergio Oliva jr at 278 pounds
Post by: the trainer on May 27, 2014, 07:02:50 AM
Looks pretty lean in the face for offseason plans to complete at 245 pounds this year he should be impressive at that weight.

He has a very Flex Wheeler-sque vibe to him. And I mean that in a good way.

Too bad the old CIBA D-bols aren't around anymore.  His daddy was popping them like Skittles.

Still something got lost in the mix. Sr was the true genetic freak.

the arms, the V taper.  He'll match his father on legs, but let's admit it... Sergio was training/dosing/focusing upon upper body way harder, way earlier than junior was.  Senior had better arms, and a Vtaper that was unbeatable.

like everybody else back then. Actually, Sergio had big legs compared to his competitors. Overall structure was incredible.

I think he said he plans to compete at 245 pounds. Sounds like a really humble guy.

This was Sergio in 1972!! .... to think that he lost to Arnold that year, and wasn't allowed to compete the year before ..... what a way to disrespect a 3 times Mr.O .....

he wasn't exactly a "Weider boy ' though

WoooSSSHHHHHH  BE YEKE

You can ask any of the guys who competed against Both Arnold and Sergio during that era....

Only Franco and Joe Weider thought Arnold was better.

Not really a fair comparison that was sergio jr in 2009 he has grown a lot since then, when he completes  next month at 245 then we should see something freaky.

I think its  a very brave move to follow in your dads step. Especially if he is one of the greatest Bodybuilders.
Seems like a nice kid. I hope he gets far.

Funny thing he got into a lot of fights with his Dad because he did not want him to follow his footsteps he wanted him to go to university and  be a lawyer or doctor, but he wanted to lift weights like his Dad.

Should have listened to his dad...

But then again he probably doesn't have the mental capacity to be a lawyer or doctor, probably couldn't even get a finance or accounting degree either

Bbing seems better, no job, no thinking, inject drugs, lift weights, eat and sleep

In jays defense I don't think he ever got a degree only associates from a community college, Ronnie is just Ronnie

But yeah I think he should have listened to his dad but then again being Sergio's son growing up he couldn't help but follow in his dads footsteps

I cant blame him. Dad was famous and had plenty of cool story's to tell. Plus it never fails to look impressive.
Of course Sergio knew all the bullshit that comes with it and times have changed considerably since then.
But you have to find out for yourself. Otherwise you will regret it not to.

This. Weider alsot thought so. Apart from his chest, I don't see how anyone can think Arnold was better.

Incredible old pic of Sergio, to think no GH, no Insulin, no fancy gyms or diet tricks.

What height is Sergio jr? I am 6ft, 245lbs now 1 1/2 weeks out.
