I wonder how much her role would change today---the live in house keeper to a bunch of whiny suburban kids who were jealous of one another and couldn't clean up their rooms.
In today's world, what do you think each kid would be getting into, and do you think Alice would be covering for them?

Wouldn't change at all except the man of the house would be belittled and there'd be the odd subtext re feminism, gay marriage and cancer.

Back then it was pot now it's other shit. Kids will always be dickheads... ie kids. Parents are the problem. If your kid is a dick it;s your fault 9/10 times.

In my area, in those "before cable was everywhere" days shows I don't really ever remember it being on much.
Seems like they played cartoons in the morning, then in the middle of the day you would have Andy Griffith, Gomer Pyle, Leave it to Beaver etc then you'd catch The Brady bunch followed by Ninja Turles, Chip and Dale plus the rest of the cartoon and at night they would have on MASH and stuff like that.

The funny thing is that it lasted almost twice as long as The Brady Bunch, and even had a spin off called Flo -
.
Every now and the there'd be a laugh, usually from one of the supporting cast, but it really was a dog of a show. It mainly plays here on smaller stations, with something like "Welcome Back Kotter".
It really does have the worst intro music, when she hits that "There's a neeeeew gal in town...." thing :(.
RIP to Ann B Davis though, I just read the story, horrible way to go.

You know that dude is a millionaire several times over, and not because of his role on Growing Pains. Turns out, the guy killed it in Hollywood writing theme songs for hit shows and the royalties keep him in the black to a significant extent.

But, divorced. And his lifestyle was the reason Robin Thicke got married early (he talked about his father having models like Miss Whatever in the hot tub, etc)and tried to stay faithful, but that didn't work out.
So, basically he screwed up his marriage and his son's.
