Title: Have you ever been shipwrecked & alone, stranded on an island?
Post by: Royalty on June 03, 2014, 12:33:19 PM
Tell us your survival methods. How did you feed yourself? Did you train? How were you rescued?

I usually just climb that lone, single coconut tree that's always in the center and the ships generally spot me.

Did you train during that 6 hour period?? Or did you feel sorry for yourself, and let life pass you by?

When I was ship wrecked I worked out just about every day. I did the following routine.

1. single leg squats using a coconut tree for balance. (legs)
2. body weight two leg squats (legs)
3. body weight lunges. Then jumps for height (legs and power)

4. chins up using a branch of a tree. (lats and bicep)
5. body weight rows facing the sky using a low branch about 4' high. (back)

6. various types push ups (regular, narrow, legs raised) (chest & tricep)
7. dips on two fairly level branches (chest and triceps)

8 head stand push ups for delts leaning against a coconut tree. (delts)
9. lateral raises using a coconut in each hand. (delts)

10 heel raise using a branch on the ground. (calves)

11. stuff like burpes and mountain climbers (condition)

12. various abs stuff.

For cardio I played tag with the monkeys. Freakin bastards never knew when the game was played out. Played for ever.  Fuckin jerks.

That's what I call making the best of a bad situation.

When I was 14 I borrowed a boat and took it out on my own.  I was staying at one of the islands with my family for some fishing expo.  Anyway a tropical storm blew me out to sea and I had to be rescued.  Needless to say I wasn't the flavour of the week for everyone.  That's the closest I have come to being stranded on an island.

No I was concerned about sharks by that stage so why just thinking about not becoming shark bait.

I went on a ski trip in the Austrian alps about15 years go and a big snowstorm blew in. Me and my girlfriend had to hide out in an cave for 3 days. Till it cleared up. I asked her if its ok to eat her if she freezes to death.
Lets put it this way I didn't get a sunburn   But I guess that doesn't count as an island.
