The owner is right, too. Any horse that runs Belmont should have run in the other two to qualify. Bringing in a fresh horse to run against those that have worked so hard is unfair to the competition. Probably wouldn't have said "coward," but I hear his point!

each race is killer on the horse, most dont even race after their triple crown loss, the life of a race horse is even shorter then an NFL running back

CC is only three. He's got some races left for sure.

I agree. I was unaware that all the horses hadn't run in the previous 2 races of the triple crown. That's a huge disadvantage to the horses that did. And the last race is the longest too. No wonder a horse hasn't won all 3 since 1978.

Gotta love CC's owner. Payed 8k for the horse. After the first race is then worth $6mil and turned it down, second worth 10-20mil. Still lives in his 1500sqft home. Wife bought him a new hat for $300 and said the one he still has is just fine (it's 11 years old). Still drives his old pickup back and forth to his factory job that he still works at. Love this guy.

incredibly hard, especially since the horse doesn't know the importance of it no matter how hard you beat him with the whip

Once I became aware of this the whole thing lost some luster.   Bullshit the other horses should have had to raced the previous two races not just step on at the third and play spoiler.
