Title: Dave Palumbo, why didn't he turn pro?
Post by: FermiDirac on June 11, 2014, 11:51:26 AM
Earliest, and to this day, one of the freakiest mass monsters of all time. So, what was the reason behind him not receiving a pro card? Was it politics or simply that the judges feared he would cause a paradigm shift in the industry had he received the cover and recognition as a pro?

In his prime he was scarily freaky, especially considering his bodyfat levels at 300lbs.

Competition was much thicker back then with less cards. He was very freaky with an ugly structure, he's sort of like the face for bodybuilding going to shit.

He's the founder of palumboism ffs

Because there are some people with genes so bad that even if they take all the drugs on the planet they still wont become a pro.

As was said, Dave was an absolute freak monster (I hung with him in Vegas when he was at his biggest, and the man was well over 300 pounds with VERY thin skin), but his structure just did not do him any favours.

Then, of course, Palumboism set in and it was all over.

He was ripped to shredsand freaky but competition was much more thick back in along with fewer pro cards available.  Truth being told, he could have easily won his pro card at a Master's Division show but with his job as Editor at Muscular Development, he made a wise decision as it paid him much more money

Saw him quest pose years back at outdoors Venice Muscle Beach. He reminded me of a larger Benny Poda. Monster muscle on non aesthetic frame. Terrible back acne. I have had two face to face short conversations with the man. Both times he asked me a favor promising a favor in return. I came thru big time and he turned his back on me.  I did get apologies from one of his female assistants.

The founder and CEO of Palumboism... Yes, he was a freak, full of shredded and hard muscles, vascular, but the structure was awful, and his muscle bellies were not great either... Still very impressive in terms of ugly freakiness...

He didn't turn pro because he's a punk bitch who spent most of his time charging $500 for cookie cutter nutrition and bodybuilding programs and setting up bullshit Species supplement company where the supplements did nothing but create lawsuits.

Placebo deceived himself.  Too much medical knowledge isn't exactly a good thing for a competitive bber, just wing the drugs like Wheeler.

He was 1 man away from a pro card in 1 show and that was Toney Freeman ( a man who has seen the Olympia stage many times) so I think he could have but lost the drive after that particular show.

He prob. earns more money than 80 % of all "IFBB Pro Card Holders". So i would say heīs a pro, because Bodybuilding is the job from he getīs the money to pay his bills.

Being a pro bodybuilder has nothing to do with winning shows.
The only thing that matters is winning schmoes.

So how did his cock taste?

First favor was an introduction to an old timer friend of mine, former WO partner of Arnold's. I 'was' to be included in that interview. Might have helped for some PR just prior to my Nationals.

Second favor was me to gift him a case of my own brand BB t shirts he "just had to have...they are so cool". I was to get an exclusive interview....obviously never happened. Twice burned.

OK Grim....happy camper now?

A lot of pro bodybuilders' finances are shaky at best.

Even Shawn Ray...a bodybuilding pro...had more than one insurance policy lapse due to non-payment.
