All three were Oscar worthy.

Who's Harry Crumb
is my order.
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is his best work, too bad we never got to see him in more dramatic roles, he had a good turn in JFK -
.
On a semi related note -
Val Kilmer for a biopic would work -

Had an sister-in-law once (no longer tied to that family) who looked exactly like John Candy with full grown beard... The guy who married her look like Lee van Cleef. Their child was ehm... not pretty... and not smart...

More ontopic: don't really care for John Candy's movies...
-
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles was decent, but hey, he's no Kevin Hart.
:-X
-
John Candy was quite the Kevin Hart!
Preferred Who's Harry Crumb over Uncle Buck though.
-
It's not on your list but Planes, Trains and Automobiles is my personal favorite.
-
Don't forget "Summer Rental."
Of those three, Uncle Buck.
-
Uncle Buck.
WHC? was brutal. But it at least had Shawnee Smith.

John Candy was a great man. All of those are excellent movies but I think he gave his best performance in Planes, Trains and Automobiles. If you're not getting a little teary eyed in the scene at the end where he tells Steve Martin about his dead wife...then there's something wrong with you as a human being.
-
He was good in those black&white movies with Stan Laurel.
-
All John Candy movies are funny and entertaining. I was disappointed when this guy died.
Uncle Buck is the best...

I suppose you didn't see "Canadian Bacon" then. Terrible movie.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles......hands down Candy's best work.
-
Uncle Buck is funny but Armed & Dangerous is the tits!
John Candy is a great one.
-
Delerious
-
Of the three I'd say Uncle Buck.
I did like Summer Rental and the love the "ole 96r" scene from Great Outdoors. Liked Armed and Dangerous too!
-
you forgot SpaceBalls
(http://michaelhutchenceandme.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/john-candy-spaceballs.jpg)
-
also he was in Brewster's Millions , but thats more of a Richard Pryor movie
-
Armed and Dangerous for bodybuilding content ;)
-
I liked him in Stripes even though his role in that movie was limited.
-
John Candy on 'Half Wits' on SCTV.
-
Planes, Trains, without question.
-
I was a big fan of his. R.I.P. played the part of an average Joe very well.
-
"Uncle Buck" is a classic but I think "Who's Harry Crumb" is very underrated. The bit where he buys the used car is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life.
John Candy fucking rules.
-
Wasn't he also in "Splash" as Tom Hanks' brother?
-
Going Berserk is awesome

After arguing emphatically with the car salesman (no audio).... Harry Crumb gets the car that he wants; and he then proceeds to drive it off the lot, right into traffic and gets T Boned. Accident = 100% his fault
-
armed and dangerous, spaceballs, and splash were my favs...great outdoors too

If I'm remembering it correctly what was funny about it was that the car salesman was trying to get him to buy an expensive car and he was like no, what about this other (cheaper) car. He buys the cheap car and then pulls out of the lot and immediately gets hit and totals it. He is then forced to buy the expensive car after all. All conveyed without any audio like a silent movie. Many lolz.

1. Great Outdoors
2. Uncle Buck
3. Who's Harry Crumb
*It is close between 1 and 2.

Uncle Buck and Planes, Trains and Automobiles were great. Apparently, Chevy Chase said something at a party that Candy didn't like so JC put him in a headlock and sat down on a couch and held on while Chase kept repeating, "This isn't funny, John"
