Title: Here at the USC Skills Camp
Post by: Coach is Back! on June 14, 2014, 08:56:15 AM
My kid just ran a 4.51 40 / 1.56 10 yard split #2 on his position out of about 40. (Safety on Defense, QB on offense)

You're a funny little gimmick. Official time was a 4.7. But who's counting.

Probably the people recording and looking at times. 2 tenths is the difference between full ride scholarship and a career at mcdonalds. No one is surprised you exaggerated his results

I assume he doesn't have a third rate strength and conditioning coach like yourself.

Wait let me get this straight you first say he ran a "4.5" but then you go back to say he officially ran a 4.7 and then you act like 0.2 of a second is no big deal? That's a HUGE difference...

The real question is who would win in a race between Coach's son and flinstones?

Hand time vs. Electronic.

Hand time vs. Electronic.

Yeah the error for hand times is notoriously faster in college and high school. You won't see pro scouts miss by .2 but definetly over zealous high school coaches will scew it big time.  4.7 electronic is real fast, faster than 90% of kids playing skilled positions in high school I imagine. Hell there are nfl receivers who run 4.7( anquan boldin, vincent jackson, hines ward). I'm sure your son can shave some more time off as well.  Congrats!

Well. They were not high school coaches. It was a USC camp at SC so it was all of the SC coaching staff. 4.7 was good but there were some freaks at this thing from all across the country that were actually invited and will more than likely be offered scholarships. Some of these kids have some  rediculous talent.

Yeah it was inferred that the coaches were college since it was USC's skill camp. I was just trying to make the point that high school is notorious for over inflating numbers, but colleges are too.
