11 beats 5 every time.

I love Pop though.  2nd best coach ever.

Pop because Phil had superior talent to work with.

Easy, Pop....

He actually develops players thru the draft and makes them champions. Phil got to coach great established players and just had to tweak a few things to make them win.

Phil is in New York right now with a terrible team, lets see what he does with the Knicks...

Both are great but Pop gets my vote....made Parker, Manu and Leonard into what they are now....Phil had Jordan, Shaq and Kobe.....Shaq even won a ring without Phil....

Pop coached entire teams and developed them into champions.

Phil coached superstars and won championships with superstars only.

Big difference IMHO.

Coaches like Phil Jackson must have a Kobe, Lebron or Jordan on the payroll to win.

Pop takes obscurity and makes greatness.

Phil Jackson could never have coached the Spurs to a single title IMHO so for me Phil's title of "Best Coach of All Time" has an asterisk next to it.

I vote Pop.

Jackson has never coached a team without at least two of the best players at their position in the league.

Then again neither has Popovich except for this latest title maybe.

Phil Jackson without NBA superstars would be a less than average NBA coach at best.

I think he's unproven and his title as "Best Coach of All Time" has an asterisk next to it.

Let him coach a team created from obscurity and cultivate it and make it a champion....no Jordans, no Pippens, no Kobes, no Shaqs.

I will add that this is a bit of a silly standard since nobody has ever won a title without at least two of the best players in the league on their team (maybe there are a handful of exceptions but in general it is the rule).

But I agree in terms of pure coaching ability he is not decisively the best coach ever.

Phil Jackson agreeing to coach any NBA team today would require that with him the organization he joins onboard Lebron, Wade, Durant, Westbrook, Griffin and Paul.

Phil Jackson coached a Jordan-less Bulls team to 55 wins and spot in the conference finals during the 93-94 season. That was impressive, I thought.

phil works great with crazy crazy talent.

pop works great with highly disciplined MATURE players.

Phil jackson would probably do fine with the spurs lineup, as he had that stone cold pro mode.... but Pop wouldn't be able to work with kobe/shaq or other insane talent jackasses.
