Title: The Lakers should draft PG Elfrid Payton
Post by: Pray_4_War on June 23, 2014, 09:48:22 PM
6'4", great defender, long wingspan, big hands.

I declare on this Monday 23rd June, 2014 that the Los Angeles Lakers should draft Elfrid Payton in Thursdays NBA draft. They should not take Marcus Smart, Aaron Gordon or (if he should fall to them) Joel Embid.  Payton is the player (with my vast NBA knowledge) that I deem as the best fit for the team and the best player likely to be available at number 7.

Getbiggers, refer to this thread sometime in the next year or two and then shower me with adulation.  John Hollinger and Bill Simmons, go fucking kill yourselves.  There is a new NBA sheriff in town.........and he is me and I am him.  You're welcome.

Would love to shower you with adulation.

If by adulation you mean semen, then I'm going to respectfully decline.

I'd prefer the regular kind of adulation.

Is he related to Gary?

Is he related to Gary?

No.  I think his dad played football somewhere.

This kid plays with a chip on his shoulder like Gary Payton though.  He's a competitor.

I hope your happy with Randle instead.

He's supposed to be really good but I'm not ecstatic about him.  LA needs a young athletic guard who can defend.  If we have a guy like that then we can get away with having an aging Kobe in the back court.  Athletic point guards have been smoking us for the last several years.  That's where our defense breaks down.

To me, in the current NBA the power forward is a wasted position.  You can find a ton of guys to rebound and the post game is evaporating.    In my eyes that position is not where you spend your high picks.  As good as Blake Griffin is he's kind of a problem for the Clips.  He can't really shoot and he's not a great defender.  He gives you numbers, he makes all star teams but he doesn't put you over the top in today's NBA.

On another note did you see how much Exum looked like high school age Kobe in his highlights?  Hmmmmmm, he could end up being better than people think.

I don't trust exum being from Australia and all.

its not the same practising with in OZ, he has to go against athletic freaks in the NBA.

But I hope he represents us well.

A lot of good players in the draft.  Should make for a good 2014-15 season.
