Title: Ann Coulter - Soccer
Post by: Roger Bacon on June 26, 2014, 04:15:24 AM
 ;D

Any growing interest in soccer can only be a sign of the nation's moral decay.

(1) Individual achievement is not a big factor in soccer. In a real sport, players fumble passes, throw bricks and drop fly balls -- all in front of a crowd. When baseball players strike out, they're standing alone at the plate. But there's also individual glory in home runs, touchdowns and slam-dunks.

In soccer, the blame is dispersed and almost no one scores anyway. There are no heroes, no losers, no accountability, and no child's fragile self-esteem is bruised. There's a reason perpetually alarmed women are called "soccer moms," not "football moms."

What a load of tosh.
A fooballer scores an own goal or makes an awful pass and hes just as embarrassed as a guy alone on the plate.

Stupidest post ever.

It's an American thing to denigrate soccer every time the Workd Cup comes around. No apologies, it's just who my people are.

funny thing you say that. I was  a big fan of soccer (football) while living in Europe but ever since I moved to oz I lost interest to watch it completely.
Soccer is turning into a big theatre with a lot of fake stuff, drama, acting...have not seen any game for years and the other day I saw on the net the penalty for Brazil against Croatia...
what a load of crap. My love for rugby league has increased one notch :)

I want to like Soccer, it even seems semi entertaining. I just don't feel right about watching it. It's the same feeling I get when I start getting down to some Britney Spears music or something.  ;D

meh.. the thing is, in the US, you don't get to see decent teams or even players. Never mind the really good ones.
and when you do get the chance to see them, like in the world cup, they already have 50+ games on their legs.

In the US I would not be a football fan either.
Anyway, it's an evolved sport. Every sport in the US is kind of ADHD oriented. Confetti and shit for the entire game...

Exactly. Just look at the way certain England players got abused by the fans/media after their recent WC failure.

Unbelievable that in a nation like the US, borderline retards can reach the level of respected journalists or even Presidents. :o

I've tried to get into this just out of sheer patriotism but the sport sucks ass.

It's just a bunch of guys kicking a ball around.  They barely score, they allow ties, and the players look like they have down syndrome when they jump in the and and try to throw their head at the ball.  It's a sport for broke ass third world nations.  It's the equivalent of playing kick the can.  There is no discernible difference watching the world cup or going to the park in my neighborhood and watching the Mexicans play on Saturday afternoon.

Boring as fuck.  In the United States this is a sport for 5 year old kids.

You consider Western, Northern and Eastern Europe as well as Japan/Korea third world nations? ???

Besides, aren’t the NBA and NFL dominated by African Americans -an ethnic population in the US where around one in three is “broke ass, living in third world conditions”? :D

Fact is football is taking over rugby in Australia.
No acting in rugby  ::) o, please .
FIFA WC eats rugby WC for breakfast.
Which Aussie rugby club can match power of Real Madrid,Bayern or Manchester United .
Global brand vs small regional brand.
Which AU rugby club sell $ 100 mill. of t-shirts like CR7 or Barca's Messi, none.
Which 1 of AU billionaires invested $ 500 mill. in rugby club like other in Euro football ?, nobody.
Who in China or Brazil can name just 1 Au rugby player, etc,.
Name just 1 local rugby player who talks negatively about FIFA football ?.
Which rugby player makes (only) $ 100 000 per week or much more ?, like CR7,Neymar or Ibra ?.
Etc,.............................

I know it is easy to mock France, it is fun, but USA has never had to deal with a war on its own soil of any consequence other than the civil war. Look at Syria, Iraq, all the African conflicts. Multiply them by 100 and you approach what continental Europe dealt with in WW1 and WW2. USA has had Pearl Harbour and 9/11 and the odd Jap balloon with bombs that landed in a field in WW2. Even Ireland with its tiny population has seen far more strife in the last century.

Rugby League never fills up stadiums and crowd numbers are better than 5 years ago. Mainly because they play a lot at local grounds and Sydney is hard to get around. AFL fills up stadiums but they offer cheap members packages and only play in 2 main large grounds in the centre of the city, of which is not as hard to get around.

Soccer in Australia? Most people only give a fuck about EPL and Euro comps. Frank Lowy had to fund Aussie Soccer to get it going and he is the 4th richest man in Australia, before him the comp failed many times due to lack of interest.
