Phil is smart he has a name in bodybuilding so why use it to pimp supplements for other people, you can make more money doing it yourself.

With the death of Bodybuilding Magazines, and the Rise of Social media outlets to feed the masses , Bodybuilders nowadays can promote/market their own shit.

will these Big time MuscleTech, BSN, Universal sponsors nowaday have to kick up more money to keep their models on the payroll  , before they run off to china and have them mix up their own powders and distribute it out their garages ??? ???

i think the name isn't very marketable but he'll earn well per unit sold.  2lbs probably goes for $15.00 wholesale.  they sell it for 49.99-59.99.  phil will earn 7.50 or so post tax.  if they move 100,000 units a yr, then you get the picture.  he will make twice as much as a supplement sponsor will pay him.

now, he's really going to ball, uncle wiggs.  8)

slogan is stupid as the fuck!  he really needs to hire a marketing and branding company.

It may work, everybody talks about their "brand" these days (they are their own product, which is kinda stupid), but he actually came out with something that may have some legs---look at Dana's Flag nor Fail. So, if she can do it, why not Phil? Strike while the iron is hot.

After he sells a few, test the waters he may change up the branding and marketing of the product.

In the end, Phil Heath will make way more money selling his own brand of supplements. The key for him is to make sure that major stores like GNC & Vitamin Shoppe pick up his line.

get the fuck outta here!  phil will be selling the same wholesale shit gaspari, labrada, ronnie and yates sell.  and lets not get into the bullshit army and their moron stacks. at the end of the day if you can find a good organic whey from 30-40$, you are good to go.

none of them employ chemists, esp gaspari, since he likes to spit that shit out.  they basically hire taste testers to get the sugar and flavoring mixtures right.

Who in the fuck would EVER spend 59$ on a 2lb tub of fart powder?

Shit can be had for less than 8$ per pound retail let alone an actual connection.

Flex Magazine gave him that moniker. I believe it was due to his genetics (namely his arms and detail) or to the fact that he won his first two Pro shows back to back, or both.

Let me guess , he will sell

Protein powder
Creatine
Prework mix
Diet pills

And claim all these supplements helped him win 4 mr olympias

But he can not fool me, it was muscletech who built those muscle up for 3 sandows

Big gamble for phil, if he loses his title to kai this year tiny tits wont buy his shit , will be blamed for his losing
Phil must really think his never losing to grapefruit Greene

Flex may have mentioned it but Phil himself rode that train since like a captain, always referring to himself as that and started printed tshirts

It was certainly no name that came organically from the people or the net

At least, that's how I feel. I only heard announcers, Bob Chic and Phil himself use it

Well, he was picked up by Weider, so I guess he decided to ride it. In the magazine that covered his first two wins, they talk about his "gifted" genetics...setting the stage so to speak. It's on his first DVD cover as well. It's kinda like how Melvin Anthony rode with the "Marvelous" that, again, I believe Flex Magazine/Weider Publications came up with.

http://www.amazon.com/EAS-100%25-Protein-Chocolate-Pounds/dp/B000P0ZSHA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1404510566&sr=8-3&keywords=whey+protein+5+lb

Just basic whey is like $8-10/lb all day.

If you have a hook up you can easily buy 100lbs+ of unflavored whey in 5 gallon buckets for around $2/lb...Make your own flavoring, cocoa powder, and stevia etc...

The real money is in "fat burners" a bunch of bullshit "herbs and spices" and a pinch of caffeine and they charge $30 for a month's supply...The actual product cost MAYBE .05 total.

I suspect this is where Philsulin will focus his anger from the #haters

I've seen Freeman refer to himself as the "X-Man".  With a name like "Melvin" what could possibly top being called "The Melvin"?

Time to think of some new monikers for Phil.

Phil "The Floater" Heath.

Phil "The Heed" Heath.

Phil "The Nostrils" (might already be copyrighted by Kai "Terrible Towel" Green) Heath.

Phil "The Pooh" Heath.

This brings up an interesting point.  When entertaining at the Schmoetel 6ex, does His Philness refer to his privates as "The Heath Bar"?

Phil "The Snuffer" Heath.

Phil "The Beak" Heath.

Phil "The Shamtastic" Heath.

Anyone?  Anyone at all?  Surely there's more.    Time to gift the Gifted One and others like him with names befitting their station on the dais of life.

i don't believe he is starting his own line, since he is looking for a supplement sponsor.  it looks like he will just do a relabel with trademarks controlled by his company instead of the supplier like jay cutler signature series with BPI and get a cut.  he pretty much does everything jay does anyway. this cash burn maybe too great, just to go solo at the moment.

Thinks he can just start a supp company that's actually good while competing huh. I'd love to see him do it but he better be ready to put in the hours it takes so they're not on the computer calling your company shitty nutrition after it leaking what you actually dose your supps.

He thinks making muscles on stages facilitates any kinds of deals being done. Good luck and look forward to pimping your magic powders as a paid rep.

(New York, NY. DATE) – Phil “The Gift” Heath, 3X Mr. Olympia and bodybuilding superstar announced today the launch of his new venture, Gifted Nutrition, a brand-new line of premium sports nutrition supplements, where he will serve as the brand’s President and partner. A true gift to consumers, the products will be made with the highest quality ingredients that are carefully selected and FDA compliant. Products are now available for pre-order at WWW.GIFTEDNUTRITION.COM with shipping to commence on July 21st.

Gifted Nutrition chose to team exclusively with Richard Bartolacci, of Nutrition Resource Services, Inc., trading as JBN, who has 34 years experience in the nutrition supplements industry. The focus of the brand was to establish premium products that would appeal to first-class athletes such as Phil Heath. After transforming his already fit 215lb body into a rock solid 255lbs with 3% body fat, Heath knows that putting top quality ingredients into his body is the only way to obtain top quality results. With his meticulous nutrition and fitness plan, Heath is excited to share Gifted Nutrition’s superior products and his fitness tips to offer consumers a key to a Gifted Lifestyle.

“People often find the sport of bodybuilding unapproachable and I want to show everyone that bodybuilders are a great and often untapped resource for superior health and wellness tips.” Heath goes on to say, “I am enthusiastic about being able to offer people a product comprised of ingredients I can stand by, and look forward to bringing the Gifted Lifestyle to the masses.”

Gifted Nutrition will initially launch with four branded products: ACCELERATE (Pre-workout), ISO WHEY  (Whey Protein Isolate), SUPERLEAN (Fat Burner) S3 (Testosterone Booster) with additional superior and cutting edge products scheduled to be introduced. All products will offer customers a complete line of workout supplements to maximize the results of their workout regimen in order to help them reach their health and fitness goals. Gifted Nutrition products use only the highest quality ingredients and offer a premium alternative to the competition.

“We are very excited to launch Gifted Nutrition and announce Phil Heath as President,” said Fiorenzo Bresolin, CEO of Gifted Nutrition.  “My partners, Kevin Dash, Joey Firestone and I share a common goal with Phil: to produce an elite product line in the sports nutrition industry. We have put together a talented team of individuals along with the number one body builder in the world to help Gifted Nutrition become one of the top brands in the nutrition supplements industry. Our products and their ingredients speak for themselves, and we are proud to offer these products to the world.”

hey parker, if this joint is successful, how many cars will he own?  what about your thoughts, uncle wiggs?  :P

During the fifties Bob Hoffman discovered that nutritional products offered a decided advantage -these consumable muscle-building products (such as his Super Hi-Proteen and Hoffman Germ Oil Concentrate) provided repeat customer sales. The Weiders, as well as a handful of others, were quick to followed suit with protein products like Dynamic Muscle Builder and Crash Weight Gain #7.

Good to see Phil Heath doing serious scientific research (complete with lab coat labeled "The Gift") on a product that's been around for 60 years.

And what about medical gloves? Does that help to sell bulk protein too?
We see the man raised on comic books and flex magazine. Raised by a woman most probably.
That's how he perceives reality - just put on gloves, white coat, smile and be confident - ok, photo taken, enough science, now people ready to buy that shit, 3x Mr. Olympia in your face.
Investment project. Serious business in action.

.. I looked into private labeling and All this shit is made in some of same major mfg.plants who just put different labels on the products... Nutrition companies in collaboration with the formulators, just add a little extra shot of creatine, aminos and flavoring here and there so that they can claim they the products are 'unique' and 'superior' to their competitors... Pure bullshit with a capitol B!!

THE SHITS ALL THE DAMN SAME!!

i have zero clue, as many people still line up every weekend I do expos and has grown more every year. i think its because its getbig, but i can honestly say that I've met a few fans of Kai's and others that had this attitude and once we spoke, they literally changed and said they had me all wrong. Look, people talk smack, I talk smack, we all talk smack lol. its fun to do amongst the boys sometimes. I just think its because people here haven't hung out as if/when they did, I think we'd be laughing our asses off. Can't please everyone, but I do have respect for those who reciprocate which I think is fair.

I find it strange that he started to post here right after his supplement like came out.  ::) ::)

He knows A LOT of people look at GB and what a great way to use the site to advertise his supplement company.

We all have our opinions about 'the industry', but I can appreciate his interaction on this site. How many other pros do the same ???

Yes, we don't get that many shots at pros. The mutual ownings are getting boring. That lab coat pic has potential.

Lab coats, hair nets, and gloves. Da was an organic chemist for 35+ years and he didn't have such a righteous get-up.

You got to give phil props for being smart enough to start his own business and use his brand to make money for himself, nothing wrong with some marketing and advertising as long as he does not make those crazy claims that muscle tech use to make about gaining 10 pounds in a week.

Fat Panda had the recipe for that. Nostalgia is a bitch.

There could be line of athlete related products, taking the best from them to extreme:
protein from Nasser with the taste of bitterness,
from Kai - grapefruit flavored gainer,
Chick - FT "Finishing Touch" vitamin complex.

Bob Chick's could be "Long Term" or "Patience" in reference to him talking such a long time to get his pro card.

Rumor has it, Phil had concerns that the tubs could take away from his physique when he presented it in person so they changed it to this final design.

i was going to say, phil needs to roll up on janet layug, GN's sponsored model, but i forgot she'd have no problem causing a commotion.  phil is a good boy like the blank expression, cutler  ::), who guided him, so he'll keep a good rap sheet.  anyway, kai is waiting in the wings for him to screw up.

This is just the time-honored tradition of being endorsed by multiple companies, before starting your own brand of supplements.

Lee Haney: Weider, Twinlab.....now he has his own brand.

Lee Labrada: Weider, Met-Rx.....now he has his own brand.

Gary Strydom: Weider, Icopro, back to Weider......now he has his own deal overseas.

Ronnie Coleman: Met-Rx, Weider, BSN......own supplement company.

Jay Cutler: Weider, ISS Research, Muscletech, BPI....now his own brand in the UK.

Dorian Yates: Weider.....(I think that was the only one before he stated his company); DY Approved.

Dexter Jackson: MuscleTech, Met-Rx, back to MuscleTech (including its subsidiary, Six Star), one other company I can't remember; now he has his own "Blade Nutrition".

I'm surprised Lee Priest doesn't have his own company. Didn't he go from Prolab to MuscleTech to Twinlab in less than two years (2002-2003)?

i think the name isn't very marketable but he'll earn well per unit sold.

http://giftednutrition.com/ (http://giftednutrition.com/)

slogan is stupid as the fuck!  he really needs to hire a marketing and branding company.

You are waaaayy off on pricing.  I can get a metric ton of high quality whey protein for about $1100 bucks.  Canisters are about a nickel apiece and labels are a joke.
