Title: Muricans, share pics of your firearms
Post by: Skorp1o on July 04, 2014, 10:56:42 AM
One thing I would love to have here in London is a top notch Glock or a desert eagle and a pump shot gun...but that's not an option. My mate in Houston just got his carry on licence.

I know _aj_ has some sweet guns, just wanted to get a feel on what our friends across the ponds carry/keep at home...ideally pics of the actual guns you own.

I carry a snub nose .38 special. Old school but for home protection I'm new school. My storm looks very much like the one pictured. The electric aimpoint red dot sight has a battery that can last years

It's a self-tricked out Glock 34 with an extended, threaded barrel, a 33 round mag, light and a SWR suppressor and recoil booster. The suppressor is made for a sub machine gun, so it's bigger and quieter.

In our mountain forest we have bear and mountain lion. When we hike we carry a Governor with 3 hollow point 45s and 3 410 shotgun shells and a Ruger 40 hollow points with a 16 clip. At our city pad we have a 6 shot 12ga Savage sawed off at 18 1/4 and a little Beretta 9mm hollow point pistol with lazer sighting. Never had to use guns on critters yet. Years ago shotgun gave a home intruder a flat top haircut.

Not true. A few Americans will shoot their 9mm's at the nuclear bomb and will incinerate the nuke in a matter of seconds.

And some Americans know how to hunker, have ready supplies of food and water, know how to make and use a Faraday cage and are quite skilled at small-unit tactics.

Palmetto State M4 profile 16" 1:7 standard gas impingement. Bolt is a full-auto M16 bolt in case I want to put it on a registered receiver.

It's for my wife; she wanted a stock M4 in pink tiger stripe. I am going to have to outsource the painting.

Worth the money?

I bought it 15 years ago and I would say yes. That said, I outgrew it within a year. My can't fail safe sizing formula: think of every gun you own, want to own, could even fathom of owning and then double that. Buy THAT safe, no matter how ridiculously big it is.

Here is another great American gun

It's a M1 Garand. I got it from Uncle Sam via the CMP for $200 shipped to my door. It came from an old depot in South Carolina. Had been in storage since the end of WWII. It was pretty beat. I restored the stock, and re-blued some of the parts. It shoots like a dream.

The serial number puts it around 1942 manufacture. This gun could have been at Normandy, The Bulge or the taking of Berlin. I will never know. But it is HISTORY and it's in my safe.

My father that humped one of these for 6 years took it out and said, "I forgot how heavy these damn things were!"

They've targeted mostly old Chinese people, it's smart because the young brews know the rich Chinese immigrants are more likely to keep money and jewelry in the home safe, don't own dogs, and won't own guns thanks to Maoist culture (which was designed to make them vulnerable back home too, to the state). The local press is pretending it's not happening, because Bay Area, and we're building more free homes for Oakland shitbags to move here and enrich our neighborhood.

They steer well clear of the armed Mexican and redneck families up here.. and now we're getting a second Rottie, Omar and Jamal hopefully aren't likely to come claim their Reparations in the form of my new 3d tv

I wonder if America has those cases that you see every so often in Ireland or England where someone gets drunk and uses a water pistol or toy gun to rob a shop then gets fucked over because people thought it was a gun.

Here it is done on purpose. Called suicide by cop.  More manly than plain old suicide in Hebrew culture.

That was definitely my safe at the palazzo las vegas   ;D

2500 in earnings and I rolled into vegas w 600 to spend on gambling. I hit a "volley" on the black jack table playing 100$ hands. I was up I believe 3100 at one point but I was starting to decline. All within about 70 minutes. Paid for my trips the next year or so. Never had that type of success again.

With 33 rounds, that's more of an infil/exfil weapon. That is one of the quietest cans in the market.
Is that an Osprey on there? I have a couple SWR/Silencerco cans in process.

It's a self-tricked out Glock 34 with an extended, threaded barrel, a 33 round mag, light and a SWR suppressor and recoil booster. The suppressor is made for a sub machine gun, so it's bigger and quieter.
Very nice

Just one? How is that possible?

Although if I was gonna get one handgun, it would likely be a .357 revolver. Would have to be a Colt Python. Gotta go with Starsky and Hutch.

Savage LRP 12 in 6.5 Creedmoor. Steiner military 3-12x56 with 34mm main tube and illuminated reticle, mounted with Badger rings and Murphy precision 30 MOA base. Harris bipod with podloc.

Has the best trigger I have ever used. Breaks clean at less than 1 lb and has a pull length of only a couple thousandths of an inch.

What is it with the Troy BUIS? I wouldn't buy anything else, but the stupid BUIS costs as much as the rest of the Magpul furniture combined!

Excellent color choice too. I am a FDE guy myself.

Haha. I feel the same way about the Troy's. I picked up the Troy sights on black Friday directly from them for about $150 for the set. Not too bad. Actually picked up a lot of the parts on black Friday. I have the diopter rear with the HK style front. I saw they have a new design out so there might be some deals on the originals.

Always loved the black rifles. This is the 1st time I played with the FDE. The rifle now wears FDE panels on the rail that balance it out a little better.

Just waiting for the SWR Specwar can to finish it up.

No, never shot any competition or bench. Have only shot prone so far. Wounldn't mind trying a sniper competition or some pistol stuff.

I have a couple 12x12 steel targets, etc. Can get out to about 600 yds at the neighbors farm. It's fun when you have someone on the spotting scope calling your shots.

The Specwar has great reviews. For the money I think it's hard to beat with the Trifecta muzzle device included. Suppose to lock on tight, not like the AAC stuff. Only downside is a little heavy. I also have a SWR Sparrow .22 can in process.

Think it showed processing about 6 weeks ago. Eforms went down a couple days before I purchased, so I waited a while hoping the site would come back up. Ended up paper filing. I believe they're batch processing still...makes it tempting to add another can on. Probably won't see it until the new year. I'll post up when they get here.

i meant nasty as its a jacked up 9mm at high velocity. necked down 40 cal case pushing a 9mm pill. great idea as its pushes the round at a high velocity but without jacking up the pressure (by using the necked down 40 case). no factory subsonic rounds i know of so no ideal for optimal  suppressor use but thats ok.

Palmetto uses FN barrels, who build barrels for the military M249, Bravo Company, etc. I here their receivers are built by Aero, who are known to be quality.

I need your people's opinions.

The country where I live is as much against fire arms as any other anti gun lawed country.

So, in your opinion, do you think twelve hundred bucks for a set of hand gun, one clip, a silencer and two hundred bullets is a legit price? I don't have a picture of the set up unfortunately, but the silencer suppresses the sound like nothing else, like a softer sound when you press on your keyboard and the bullet is still lethal.

Depends on the gun and the suppressor. I am assuming that the whole thing is illegal, right? $1200 seems light for a black market pistol and suppressor.

PM a pic and of the suppressor. Also, if you unscrew the cap off the suppressor, are the internals steel baffles or old-school cotton disks (called "wipes"). If it's a can with wipes, it probably won't last you too long.

Why would you need a silencer AND 200 bullets?

silencer is a must. and 200 bullets is 200 bullets. Well, that's the package anyway.

I know I can't shoot 200 times, it will get jammed after 3 clips and will eventually ruin the gun and the silencer if I did that.

I still have to ask about the condition and all that. Don't worry I will post pics when I have a piece.

Do you own a shotgun, if you have no mental health issues and haven't done any time £50 and a cabinet gets you a shotgun certificate

its an art! everything from the weapon itself to the handling of it...then you start moving with it and it becomes an extension of your body..

once you start learning the art its not something you can stop..

actually I'm not american and I don't live in america. I live in north europe.

The only reason I want a gun with a silencer and unmarked bullets is to have the ability to defend my self when there are no more corners left to hide to anymore. And to fuck someone up if he or she is asshole enough.

What I really want is a semi automatic assault rifle. I want a rifle good enough to go to war with, or escape the federal pigs in a forrest and defend my god given freedom when necessary.

You are in Finland, correct? IIRC, suppressors are not an issue for you, they are just another shooting accessory. In the US, they are as regulated -- under the same statute and regulations -- as full-auto weapons. Our law givers are so idiotic that they believe the movies and that "silencers  ::) ) are magical evil devices and need the benevolent government to regulate.

I have to pay a $200 "transfer tax" on top of the cost to own one. PITA.

BTW, because you are allowed to do your own maintenance on your suppressor, an old-school "wipe" based suppressor is fine. You can even make your own wipes out of felt. In the US, cutting a circle of felt out while in possession of a wipe-based suppressor is a 10 year felony. Such is the idiocy of our government.

Do send a pic of the gun and I will tell you what to look for with wear and tear and help you decide whether or not the actual pistol is worth it.

The Finnish Valmet is a very, very nice rifle. Probably you used one when you had your mandatory service.

Also, while not a rifle caliber, the M31 (Americans call it a "Suomi", which is just the word for "Finnish") is a VERY nice submachine gun in 9mm.

a bit too old for me, I'm not a collector  ;D

I want the rk95 assault rifle :P

that's what I used in my mandatory service, nothing too fancy, but it's reliable. I could put it to pieces and back together reloaded in 15 seconds. 7.62 bullets.

As for the picture, I haven't seen the provider, I only saw the picture of the gun from my friends phone, I try to ask can he send it to me but you know, in a smart phone era people don't usually want to do that, but I try to get the name and stats of it for ya.

The RK95 is basically just an AK with better machining on the parts. The breakdown is identical to an AK47.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, it's actually a very fine and pragmatic weapon design.

When broken down it goes in 5 differend pieces plus the clip, very easy for an oldschool rifle.

I thought since I'm in finland I should be able to get it somehow. This is where one should be tight with the finnish hells Angels. It's hard to get and it's expensive for sure.
