I have lived thru California droughts before but nothing like this one. Back in the 70s when California was more center thinking than the far far left warm and fuzzies now controlling the Government I went thru a bad one. All the local municipals and citizens man upped and cut their water consumption. Violators were fined no if ands or buts. All the golf courses turned brown, showers and toilets had restrictors, motto was if its yellow mellow, if brown flush it down, public green areas went brown, agriculture was cut in half, car washes went out of business, no water served in restaurants, bottlers imported their Cokes and other drinks from out of state....on and on.
I just read in the Bay Area news that San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose will not enforce the new Jerry Brown water initiative and fine offenders. Like good progressives they will give them a time out and send them to their rooms for 10 min. to think about it. They will leave a note on their door "how to conserve water".
ARE YOU KIDDING? If California gets just one more dry winter some 25 miilion+ peeps had better like the taste of spit and sea water. When the wells and reservoirs are dry to the bone. Most progressives are not believers...they had better learn to drop to their knees and pray to something.

I'm sorry they've destroyed your state.

I'm sorry they've destroyed your state.
They ruined my state as well

They'll just move elsewhere once the damage has been done and fuck up the new area too.

Yeah but you native Texans will string them up.

My only saving grace is that I'll likely be an old man sitting on a rocking chair by the time it ever has to come to that in this area.

They are like locusts, they suck the wealth/life out of one area then move en masse to the next state and suck it dry too.

what's wrong with you people?
don't you realize water rationing is bad for business?
Wake up an smell the water free coffee

I moved to Arizona 3 years ago. I live in the White Mountains over near the New Mexico border. We have had a week of Monsoon thunderstorms. Our fields are full of wildflowers, streams are running and lakes are full. Up hear is like California in the late 1950s....heaven.

Shee-it, the righties here are going soft. No one said a word about the OP using the term "progressives". lol

So now it's Obama's fault that there is a drought in California? ::)
Water shortage in a desert? Who'd have ever thunk it? ::)

I thought it was climate change causing the droughts? Won't it rain over there again if we get off of fossil fuels?

They're like termites. :o

Hey, we have "conserve water" messages on the freeway, that's pretty heavy handed don't you think?
The irony is the progressives are the biggest authoritarians out there, and gladly allow government to micromanage every aspect of your life in the name of "big society" so I'm not sure why we're not cracking down on this.
My lawn looks like crap though :-\
