I was going along very happily with my workouts using a standard lat pulldown machine. The machine
goes to 100kg and that isn't always enough for me but that was okay. You see they have these little
brackets at my gym that you can but on the top of the machine weight stack. On either side of the bracket
you can add plates. Theoretically you could add an extra 80kg+ to the stack. Great you've got somewhere
to go when the stack is not enough.
So I go into the gym yesterday night and all the old lat machines are gone. Now all the new lat machines
have got covered weight stacks so you can't really hang any extract weight on them - f**king annoying.
-
did you check you can comfortably use the entire stack on the new machine?
Different brands are setup differently so 100kilos one one machine doesn't equate to 100kilos on another...
-
Yeah - I did one machine and it is harder than the previous machine but I can still do the entire stack.

Ask management about getting additional plates like the last one had.
-
time to go gym shopping
-
time to try an exercise called chins.
-
100kg? you're a beast! :o

That sucks. A gym I used to train at replaced the cables on their pull downs with longer cables so their shorter members (women) could use them. Of course that meant anyone over 6 feet couldn't get a stretch at the top. >:(

Have not trained in nearly 16 weeks because i gave my old gym the finger over a dispute, have been preparing to build my own gym and need some help trying to find any Hammer Strength commercial machines.Any help would be appreciated.Cannot not seem to find them on the net?. ???

Yes unless you go to a real hardcore gym, gyms in general seem to pander to the lowest common denominator. So they get the "safe" machines with the covered weight stacks.
I did do chins and am now quite sore from those. So looks like I will be sticking with them for a while.
