Title: The 2014 NFL thread. Are you ready for some football!!!!
Post by: King Shizzo on July 25, 2014, 05:46:41 PM
Thank the lord that football season is just around the corner.

I am also lucky to be a Patriots fan.

So I can easily pencil in the Pats to win the AFC East again.

I can also see a probable rematch with the Broncos for the AFC title.

This time we have Revis island, Brandon Browner, and hopefully a healthy Gronk.

So in conclusion, the New England Patriots will be in the superbowl.  ;D

A Raiders fan? I'll pray for you. :-\

Its a damn shame too. The Raiders should be the Lakers of the NFL.

Oh lawd! (In my best Goodrum voice)

Joe Fluke-O?

Ray "overcooked" Rice?

The Ravens will be lucky to finish ahead of the Browns for last in the Central.

My favorite sport is football though.

I played a little football and baseball in highschool.

Rick Ankiel was a few years ahead of me at my highschool.

Been counting down since the Super Bowl. I've been watching the best 100 players of 2014 on the NFL channel for the past 3-4 months and FINALLY the new season of Hard Knocks starts Aug. 6 on HBO.

If I'm not mistaken, you're a "soccer" fan. So let's not go there with homosexual sports.

It hasn't been the Central in over ten years chief. It's the North, where they play smash mouth ball. Patsies are done.

Very ready.

Shizz, why are you a Pats fan? Don't you live in FL? Are you a transplant?

Here in New England we have high hopes for the Pats, despite Brady's age and obvious loss of a step or two. Darrelle Revis coming here was like a gift from God.

Its who I have always liked since I started watching football seriously.

I like the Pacers in Basketball

And the A's in baseball

All stem from taking a serious interest in sports in the early 90's.

They will be my teams forever.

Mmmm,,49ers lost the whole back end of that D that went to SB and kaps not a good passer. I think the bears go in and beat them week 2 to open up Levi's, and for the year they are in the toughest division this year you might have to win it to get in.

The NFL is getting rid of the PAT?  No more kicks for the extra point?  WTF?

No, they are trying something new only for this preseason. All extra points will be taken from the 15 yd line. They will then gather the data, and see if it warrants a permanent change.

The theory now, is that the PAT's are too easy to convert. They want to try to implement more of a challenge to the kickers, and make the PAT meaningful.

Was in vegas this weekend, just in time to put down $100 on the Colts winning it all.  I don't like the Colts but if they can stay healthy, they can win it all.  Odd were good as well.  Will see in Feb if I can collect it or not. Also hedged my bet with $50 on Seattle to repeat.

So the Bengals signed Daulton to a 6 year extension for 115 million. Are these owners morons?

I know it's all about the guaranteed money, but still. How about these owners grab a pair, and not baby these players (especially qb's)

Only guys like Brady, Manning, Brees, Roethlisberger, Rodgers deserve that kind of money. Now every scrub qb is getting a 100 million dollar deal.

The only good part about it, is that 90% of these scrubs will never see anywhere close to the complete contract.

Look for guys like Romo, Flacco, Daulton, and Kaepernick to be cut in the next few years.

Ever since Goodell has taken over my interest in the NFL has gone down.  I can barely even watch a full game anymore.  The commentators and endless commercials are just too annoying.
