awesome! thanks for the pics.
-
Eddie had a very platz like build to him with way bigger arm's,good conditioning at the time.
-
Huge legs. I remember seeing him in alot of mags around the time I got into lifting. Back in the 90's.
-
Eddie Robinson was a rare genetic freak, a bodybuilding wunderkind who won his first bodybuilding contest (Teen Mr. Largo) without ever having lifted a weight.
Any old-timers who remember will back me up on that... I'm not making it up.
-
I guess since nobody has said it yet I will. That first picture is kinda strange. He looks like he's butt naked and he's holding a big wood covering his crotch. does it have a hidden message.
-
not bad kinda blocky though

He was awesome. Would love to see him on stage again. I was nicknamed after him....
-
Eddie was a REALLY strong dude and actually did very mild cycles, a true genetic freak
-
how did he disappear from the scene? i hope it wasnt due to his "mild cycles" ::)

He's gotten religious.
-
in the first pic he is holding some wood and by the 3rd it is growing out of his ass!

Errrrrrrrrrr how does religion stop him from BB? Cant he train and compete and honour his committment to God? Or did he have to chuck it all to spend all his time preaching to save souls?
Nice physique. That picture of him with the wood makes him look like he's about to aim and shoot...........
heh. ;D

Eddie could consider the Pro Masters show. It is set up along Masters O lines.

Dan-O:
I'm not sure whether Eddie won his first-ever contest or not, but I trained with Eddie, along with a guy named Dennis McDuffy, in early 1983 for the Mr.Gulfcoast contest. Eddie competed in the Teenage division, Dennis and I in the Novice. Eddie had just gotten back from a Christmas visit to Ohio and trained only 4 or 5 weeks for the show. His tanning consisted of applying a coat of bronzer that he had purchased at Maas Brothers the morning of the contest. But Eddie did not win, he was third; the teenage winner was Gary Beachum, I think. However, Eddie clearly had the most potential and was already the best proportioned athlete on stage that day, including the Open and Novice classes.
By 1984 Eddie had gained about 50 additional pounds of muscle and was on his way.
-
I remember reading an interview in WBF magazine where Eddie stated that he was "trying to be like Tom Platz" in that he was going for 50 rep squats with 315 pounds. Apparently, at the time, the most he got up to was 37 (which is massive!)- now we know how he got his HUGE legs.
Secondly, I recall reading that Eddie won a grand prix pro show (Niagra falls??) but later read that he never won a pro show.
Did he or didn't he?
His arms were insane - at the first WBF show he should have placed second to Gary Strydom.
-
Eddie is incredable! i have an old issue of flex with him and rich gaspari doing tricep extensions with the 200. I love Eddie's attitude when it came to balls to the wall training.
-
I beleive I read in Muscle Mag a while back that he is a tatoo artist now? He said in the interview that he is going into cosmetic surgery-permanent makeup?

He benched 610 at 220? Sounds pretty hard to believe.

I recall reading that had it been a sanctioned lift, it would have been a record for that weight class. (from his WBF mag. article)

guy had a good chance to well in ifbb, chose wbf and paid for it like the rest, same could be said for new federation starting now.
