Both Craig Titus, Kelly Ryan and Anthony Gross appeared live in person at the court today in the morning.
Kelly's charge was upgraded to murder. Also, kidnapping too.
The new evidence presented, which some of us already knew, was that there was a taser stun gun used on Melissa. Then they say she was drugged and suffocated.

Charges upgraded against bodybuilding duo in Las Vegas slaying
LAS VEGAS -- Professional bodybuilders Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan were charged Wednesday with using a stun gun, drugging and suffocating their live-in personal assistant before her dead body was found in Ryan's burned-out Jaguar.
They remained shackled to other Clark County jail inmates as they sat two rows apart.
Titus' rippling arm muscles stretched the fabric of his blue jail uniform. He offered a one-word reply when he and Ryan stood and Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Joe M. Bonaventure asked each if they understood the charges.
"Absolutely," Titus said.
"Yes, sir," Ryan said.
Daskas declined Wednesday to describe a motive for the slaying. The complaint accuses Titus and Ryan of using a Taser stun gun, administering morphine or a related drug, and asphyxiating or suffocating James with a fabric or wire around her neck.
Their lawyers have maintained Titus and Ryan are innocent of the charges.
"On behalf of our client, he is 100 percent not guilty," Boston-based lawyer Steven Boozang said as he and Las Vegas lawyer Richard Schonfeld met reporters outside the courtroom.
Ryan's lawyer, Tom Pitaro, was not immediately available for comment.
Bonaventure, who had planned to consider bail for Ryan, scheduled a formal bail hearing Feb. 10, and a preliminary hearing March 29.
An alleged accomplice in the case, Anthony Gross, also appeared in court Wednesday, although charges against him remained the same.
Gross, 23, was arrested Dec. 21 and has pleaded not guilty to accessory to murder and third-degree arson. He remains under house arrest after posting $13,000 bail.
His lawyer, Louis Palazzo, noted Wednesday that Gross remained in Las Vegas and cooperated with police when he was interviewed after James' body was found.
Gross told authorities he bought a can of gasoline and followed in his pickup while Titus allegedly drove the Jaguar to a remote spot outside Las Vegas, took the gas and set the car afire. Gross told police he drove Titus back to Las Vegas, but they did not discuss what happened.
Titus and Ryan were arrested Dec. 23 in Stoughton, Mass., near Boston, and returned last week to Clark County jail.
Boozang has denied the couple fled Las Vegas to avoid charges after being interviewed by police in the case. He said they had intended to spend the Christmas holidays with friends in the Boston area, and left town before charges were filed and arrest warrants were issued Dec. 20.
A Clark County prosecutor, Robert Daskas, called it premature to say whether authorities would seek the death penalty based on upgraded charges including murder and kidnapping against Ryan, and kidnapping against Titus. Titus, 41, who made his first appearance in a Las Vegas court, previously faced murder, accessory to murder and third-degree arson charges.
Ryan, 33, had appeared Tuesday on accessory and arson charges in the slaying of 28-year-old Melissa James, a former fitness instructor who moved last year from Lambertville, N.J. to live with Titus and Ryan. Her charred body was found Dec. 14 in the trunk of Ryan's burned Jaguar off a desert highway outside Las Vegas.
Neither Titus, nor his wife, Ryan, was asked Wednesday to enter a plea to the amended complaint.
Titus won a 1996 bodybuilding championship and competed in Mr. Olympia events. Ryan is a past Fitness America and Fitness International winner and Fitness Olympia runner-up.

I am glad the kid has a good attorney who (as the attorney himself said) "I will not allow my client (Gross) to be made a scapegoat in this case"...which is another thing Craig does best
I can only imagine that as the trial comes out that C & K will try to claim that they used the stun gun, morphine, & coat hanger in self defense against Melissa......
the irony of the video clip is that Craig is still trying to play the Big Dawg In Charge by whispering to Kelly about 4 rows back in the courtroom..."Don't say nothin"

Can you imagine what is going through both of their minds? Being apart from each other, not knowing if the other is going to roll on you....that has got to keep you up at night. You don't know to love or hate your spouse.

simpson did not have the same look. simpson after few years in jail can still walk into a county bodybuilding competition and win it. he is BLACK and not only black but marvelous genetics kinda black..he's a murderer too but thats a diff story. simpson did not need hormones at the dose the murderer and his ugly wife used. simpson used a lot less and grew a hell of a lot better. simpson not even once in his trial or time in jail looked skinny and had no muscle. simpson like ronnie...those guys have the hormonized look with out the hormones!! very bad comparison. simpson might looked tired and feeling like shit but he looked jacked day in day out. genetically jacked. line backer for god sake...this is not some skinny wanna be bodybuilder who take roids...this is years and years of genetically blessed body.

Amen to that! Craig got his flunkie (Gross) to help dispose of another of CT's flunkies (Melissa James). What the hell was Gross thinking? If they (CT/KR) could do it to her (MJ), they (CT /KR) could do it to him (Gross), too.

how do you establish that the murderer looks good? i see a vein in the arm on a 5'8 195 pounder at around 9-10%. the guard next to him looks way bigger and not so far behind bodyfat wise. the murderer hasnt been in prison more than a month or 2.. guess going down from 21 inch arms to 19 inch arms super fast is good. dont forget what he had on him before! you are talkin about pro bodybuilder here that looks right now like a regular guy that works out with somewhat big arms. wait another 12 months and see what happens.

100 pounds of skin and bones would probably look decent if the ugly wife had face to go with it. the ugly wife looks sickly skinny (similat to cancer pacient that is about to pass away) and her face is horrible; from the squared jaw to the twisted nose to the disgusting lips. body you can change if you know the right tricks..face is yours to keep! horrible

Considering what she had supposedly put herself through pre-arrest and the burdensome road she has been on since the arrest, I think she looks remarkably well. Remember; no makeup, no blow-dryer, no skincare products, no nutritious foods, etc. I surmise her self-esteem is suffering as well.

To the general public who knows nothing about bodybuilding, Craig looked quite impressive in the court room. It's not every day that you see a muscular, vascular, and clean shaven inmate appearing before the judge!

the murderer DOES NOT look impressive nor does he look muscular. he does look clean shaven and he does seem to have a vein or 2 in the 18-19 inch arms. nothing to write home about.

the ugly wife does not look well nor does she look normal. she looks like a 45 year old prostitute that been on hard narcotics for quite some time. no make up will help face like this, her hair is ruined from years over years of using primo and winstrol at high doses, and her wrinkles are shining from a distance. i also start suspecting she has the hiv virus. the ugly wife looks HORRIFIC and scared to death!

I agree with you. Without all her makeup, you can really get a feel for how much plastic surgery she has had. It is truely unbelievable. It does not even look like the Kelly that was on stage at last years Arnold Classic. I bet if you simply showed that picture to people they would not guess it is her.

thats 18-19 inches which is about 3-4 inches bigger than the average man arm. it is something to write home about going into your first competition, but for a pro bodybuilder under atleast 20 years of HEAVY hormone use it is nothing to write home about. very average look. thick average guy that is deflating

You're way off on a tangent. I was referring to his facial expression when first pleading, in relation to her pic. Much the same lifeless expression of resignment seen with anyone in court, particularly when guilty. No one is gonna look good in this context.

You have no idea whether he used anything. While he was with the 49ers I asked him; he said he barely even lifted weights. Don't know if that was true, but he wasn't small at 210, 6'1", in shape.

Check out the chick sitting down in the prison line in court. She's just a little more haggard than Kelly, and no money for plastic surgery either... and they could be sisters! SAD SAD SAD SAD SAD! KR looks like a common trailer court drug user now. She used to be so perky and cute and had actual fire in her eyes before Craig. God, what must her parents be thinking?

A former Lambertville woman was immobilized with a stun gun, drugged and suffocated before her body was found in the trunk of a burning Jaguar near Las Vegas, and now the husband-and-wife bodybuilders accused of her murder could both face the death penalty since charges against them have been upgraded, according to Las Vegas authorities.
The use of a deadly weapon could result in a doubling of whatever sentence is ultimately handed down, Clark County Public Information Officer Michael Sommermeyer said Feb. 2. If the suspects are found guilty and sentenced to life, they would face two life terms.
Prosecutor Robert Daskas has not determined yet whether to seek the death penalty, according to Mr. Sommermeyer.
The criminal complaint alleges the pair of professional bodybuilders killed Miss James, their live-in personal aide, "by applying an 'Air Taser' gun and/or asphyxiating and/or suffocating and/or administering morphine and/or a related drug."
The accused were being held in the Clark County Detention Center in downtown Las Vegas. A bail hearing is scheduled for tomorrow (Feb. 10). A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 29.
Mr. Titus told investigators he and Miss James had had an affair. Ms. Ryan claimed Miss James embezzled funds and also took her red 2003 Jaguar without permission although no complaints were filed with police.
Miss James had been scheduled to return to New Jersey Dec. 14 to visit her mother, Maura James of West Amwell, for Christmas. She never arrived. Instead, police found her body that morning stuffed in the trunk of Ms. Ryan's Jaguar on the side of a remote highway. A cloth bound her neck, and duct tape was wrapped around her face. Miss James moved to Las Vegas last year to work for the couple.
The couple's status among the elite of the bodybuilding world has drawn much media attention. Following the case are the Associated Press, Court TV, Fox News, "CBS 48 Hours" and "Dateline NBC." The victim's mother appeared on Court TV's "Catherine Crier Live" last week.
