"As the title says, I heard from my mother and my aunt that they were sexually abused by their older brother. My mother is similar in age to my uncle (about 2 years apart) and he began raping her when she was around 11 until she was around 16, even going as far as allowing his friends to rape her while she was sleeping and he had a rowdy party. My aunt is much younger, the baby of the family, and she told me that when he was 18 he would force her to perform oral sex on him (she was four years old). I hate this man more than anyone or anything in the world. In my eyes, he is a pedophile monster that should be in jail. However, my mom and her sister are perfectly content to pretend it never happened, and treat him just like any other family member. I respect their privacy in this matter, and have not told any other family members. Up until this point I have not seen him in person since I was told about the abuse they faced. I am going to visit my mother's side of the family in a few weeks, and there is a large family reunion specifically for my Grandmother's birthday. He will be there. I honestly have no idea how to react, and I am having a great deal of anxiety just thinking about the situation.
I want to respect their wishes and privacy, but I can't pretend that he isn't a piece of shit pedophile. I have a little niece who will be there too, and the idea of him anywhere near her makes me want to vomit. Please offer me any advice, I am so lost as to what to do/how to act."

Someone like that mentioned in the story, just doesn`t give up his perversion. I am sure if you followed him around long enough, did some snooping, gathering evidence could easily be accomplished.

The people who were affected have moved on from the issue and do not wish to dredge it up and getting the guy convicted will indeed dredge it. If she does anything to this guy, it will almost certainly make life tough for those she's apparently attempting to "help" out.
Also, this person is so amoral that it may be necessary to err, expire him, if you're going to bring violence upon him.
.. And he may not be a paedophile - at 18 years old, he may have simply perceived no way to get laid and basically amorally used that which was around him, to satisfy himself.
He certainly deserves something, but I'm wondering what it could be with the parameters involved.

Wrong. You don't simply "move on" from trauma experiences like sexual abuse. I can almost bet it still haunts them to this day.

there is no evidence except for the complaint...and the statute of limitations of when it happen would come into play...
thats why Texas is awesome...no statute of limitations on sick bastard pedos..and on top of that here in Texas even if the family didnt want to press charges it wouldnt matter...in any domestic violece, or domestic assault(and this IS sexual assault) the state of Texas would file the charges on behalf of Texas..
