I listed to Iron Radio each week as I do my lawn riding around on my John Deer.
This week Fortress was discussing supps, and the bodybuilders who (try to) put them out.
The way he was talking about Heaths "Gifted Nutrition" and his $50.00 Fart Powder had my LMAO while driving around.
Good stuff Fortress... Great show as well, I listen to it weekly...
Episode 272:

Which 1 is fortress? The guest?

Fortress posts here (Rob "Fortress" Fortney) and he's a part of the show each week...
hes a powerlifter..
-
did he applaud heath for getting his own supplement line just like cutler, haney, arnold, yates, coleman and others have been before him and rather than bringing out a protein concentrate heath choosed an isolate which in many ways is superior?

Actually, he pilloried Heath for continuing the tradition of deceit from bodybuilders who promote products which have virtually no effect on how they look.
It was a good show, and, is a good podcast, much better than Layne Norton's snoozefest.

starts about 50 mins. destorys phil and the rest of these schmoe teasers.
-
Glad you enjoy my ranting and raving. ;D
-
Damn good commentary Fortress!
-
how many units would phil have to sell in order to match what he was making with his last company contract?
-

Nice of them to mention Ergo-log.com, an offshoot of Ergogenics.org (indeed not American, but Dutch). Been reading that for years already.

It's a good site. Also because they try to bring the research without pushing one particular view. They just find it and put it out there. They do call out bogus research and shady results paid for by pharma copmpanies though. :)

If only Phil and others could endorse the stuff that they really use...but that would be illegal, right?

Well, yes.

"Natural"
"Athlete"
"Stand-up individual"
This calls for a Fortress version of "oh brother"!
-
Fortress is a good guy and knows lifting. That being said these guys endorsing this shit is no different than guys like Jordan taking money from Nike. Ghetto kids crying to their welfare moms that they need eighty dollar sneakers to have any chance of making it to the big show. Sneakers that are being made by thirteen year olds in sweat shops being paid pennies a day while Jordan had a ten million dollar contract at that time. Nike was one of the first to go offshore and became a billion dollar enterprise. All celebrities do the same, perfumes, clothes purses furniture, you name it. It's the way the world turns. Bodybuilding is a very poor sport so I don't blame the guy.

Oh, brother. ::)

I think I have listened to nearly every episode of Iron Radio. Fortress and the others have been a huge influence in terms of helping me to define my own training goals, especially putting things in perspective from a natural physique and strength training point of view.
There is no advertising or ulterior motives - the hosts and their guests are giving away free information that is more useful than any of the "advice" you would find online.
