Title: On a serious note RE: drinking and driving this Labor Day Weekend
Post by: Primary Captain on August 28, 2014, 06:38:06 AM
Guys let's not drink and drive this weekend. Take a cab, pick a designated driver, etc. Have a good time, but let's play it safe. When you drink and drive remember the person you end up killing has a mother, father, spouse, and children. Only a real shitbag would drive drunk.

Have no time for that shit, I have more tolerance for pedos(by a minor degree).

Can't stand shitheads that victimize people for no good reason other than they suck.

True story:  from ages 16 -20ish there were three of us guys who were inseparable.(no homo). We drank every weekend. Then we all went our separate ways. Brian got his shit together and had some health problems,so  he stopped drinking. I was a total drunk for many years but quit before it destroyed my life.

Dave kept drinking, got hooked on pills and basically stayed at home mooching off disability. Last time I saw him was about 2 years ago.

About a year ago,he was kicked outta rehab for being high. So like a good fiend, he picks up a bottle of vodka and pulls it to his head.  Then he passes out while driving and kills a cyclist. He was just convored and will get about 17 years in prison.

Don't do it amigos

My Uncle was killed driving drunk when I was 12 .
I liked him, but even then , I knew he was dumb for drinking and driving.

I don't drink booze as I hate the taste.

Jesus drinking and driving used to be a national sport here. It is like speeding - sometimes it kills with retards, mostly it doesn't.

Getting behind wheel when you can't walk is borderline handicapped but throwing the book at someone for having 2 beers is equally retarded.

There is a major difference between legal drink driving (1.5 beers or something) and being a retard and driving when you are drunk. People need to stop being so righteous on the issue.

Same as speeding. Going 90mph on a straight road at night with 3 lanes is different to going 70mph on a narrow windy country road.

Don't make me say steroids kill.

Actually people who text while driving are more annoying than drunk drivers.

I drive for one of my jobs and I agree - mobile phone use causes swerving, missing lights etc (which causes other drivers behind to rage and drive faster/more aggressively).

Thing is, bad driving is a combination of things. And there are scales. I can drive 10 over limit on a motorway and who cares. Some rural roads here going at speed limit would be suicidal. Drinking? I never drink at a meal and never drive if going out (anymore). But I know when I have a couple of beers I am a lot different to 20 beers.

Sorry if you know someone killed by drink driving but I know people who died by drinking and falling in front of cars and people who died swimming.

I live about a 5 min drive max from beach. Return taxi is €24. You think someone who will have 4 drinks will pay more than twice what they paid from drinks for a 6 mile round trip if it is raining and police would never be out checking?

When I was a kid circa 1977 me and a few friends were playing in the street on a Saturday night.  All of the sudden we heard a loud crash and a strange sound that sounded like a tree falling.  We walked a few blocks to see the accident up close.  A drunk driver had hit a telephone pole.  The wood telephone pole fell onto the car and the guy was pinned beneath the pole still sitting in the drivers seat.  His head and upper body was totally crushed and blood was everywhere.  I'll never forget that sight as long as I live.   :-X

I'm a barrister.. and nowhere did I state it would be a defence. I merely referred to they hysteria at drink driving when it is a technicality (2 beers) rather than an obvious danger (swerving on road and take multiple attempts to put key in ignition).

Calling drink drivers worse than pedos, as has been said, is retarded. There are different levels. Some have 2 beers, some are drinking Jack while driving on wrong side of road.

There is the law and common sense.
. Cops
Used to be a speed limit of 50kph on a motorway near me. Cops would always be there was like fish in a barrel. Three lane motorway, gap to cycle lane and footpath with a curb separating road and a railing separating path and cycle lane. They always did speed checks despite no road deaths there. Fish in a barrel. It was the law though. Was it right? It is now 80kph, still slow but get what I mean. Just because a law is law does not make it moral.

Does that give you the freedom to decide which laws to obey?

No, it gives me the right to say what I think is moral or not. Saying a drink driver is worse than a pedo or akin to a murderer is following a ridiculous train of thought. Read back in thread to see where I am coming from. Initial posts suggest drink driving inevitably results in death.

I don't think you heard or understood first or second time I said what is law is not necessarily morally right. You should read Thomas Aquinas or Hart on what is natural law v man made law if you want to get technical. Then come back to me.

Wouldn't have been a DUI because I was responsible enough to a) only have 3 beers and b) wait several hours for the effects to wear off before driving hence wasn't under the influence.

I don't know, and I don't care  :P

Please post it though, I would love for it to cause you to get banned.

I am actually respected behind the scenes, and I rarely use the report to mod function.

Primary Captain is long overdue for a timeout.

If you haven't picked up on the "small" clues I've posted in the past, that I would rejoice in seeing you suffer through some type of horrific slow death, then I'm not doing a good enough job displaying my absolute contempt and utter disgust for everything about you.

I'll work on that....

You can do that all day long pal  ;D  Just don't align yourself with a guy who has helped give Josh my personal info, and continues to taunt me with personal info about my family.

I know for a fact that Primary Captain has had numerous complaints filed against him.

I know that the mods do not condone this behavior, which is why I am amazed that he has lasted this long.

Yes ( The Ambien...I took a breathalyzer at the police station and blew a 0.0,the blood draw results came up negative for anything except zolpidem) so I wasn't in very much trouble,
Florida's DUI law states that there are three types of substances whose impairment will allow you to be charged with DUI:

Alcohol,
Any chemical substance set forth in section 877.111, or
Any substance controlled under chapter 893.
Strangely, Ambien is not included in either of the latter two classifications.  Just by a legislative oversight, it is not illegal to drive in Florida while under the influence of this powerful sleeping medication.

The only fair thing to do, is give me a mod spot on the general board. Then we can all play boundary wars like little fags.

Adam.....honestly I'm not sure (was it illegal for me to drive while impaired under the influence of ambien...yes) however it's not in the same classification as say Xanax(prescription or not) Under Florida law if I got two "DUI'S" in a row,I'm pretty sure I would be facing some significant jail time....as I have said only thing in my system was ambien, was i in trouble.... for sure (I failed the field sobriety tests,no breath test was given at the scene, perhaps because of my previous alcohol arrest they just assumed it was alcohol?,once at the station I was given a Breathalyzer with which I passed, they next did a blood draw (which im assuming they had to wait for the results of?) at that point I was in significantly less trouble than had been previously thought....

So there you have it. Don't look for logic in Arvilla's defense theories. He's a known liar. In fact I was discussing this with a dude from Somerville who recalls Arvilla as a known scumbag.

You should be able to walk if thats the case, no questions asked.  As far as the law is concerned in Florida, you can drive under the influence of Ambien.

If the State can prove, that you drove after taking Ambien and consuming any alcohol then the DUI charge could possibly be proven.  Otherwise there is no case if its just Ambien we are talking about.

Hence why I'm not in trouble (the whole point of this thread) I have already admitting drinking and driving previously (if it was true I would admit it again) ....the only thing that caused a bit of a snag was ..I still had 3 days left on my probation for the previous DUI (Alcohol),so technically it was a probation violation (because I was arrested) ,it all got sorted out and I'm fine now (this should all be a matter of public record) and primary captain stfu with "someone from Somerville knows arvilla and he is a scum bag"  lol  I lived nowhere near Somerville ..ever.....you haven't a clue/so please stop acting like you do....it's embarrassing

Since you have chosen to ignore the rules and continued to attack various members, it's time for a sabbatical.
