Our "gods" are the winners are the winners or would be winners of the Olympia.
Stories have been told of their legendary battles and triumphs of evil.
Some stories reflect the tradegy and fall from from greatness and the sin of of hubris---for example Flex Wheeler's battles with the ninjas and him not taking the 98 Olympia seriously---thinking he could win.

Yes if you want, its certainly ritualistic and hard training summons one to reach deep to access the will and desire to push on and conquer. It cant bring peace of mind and deeper insights unless conjoined with some kind of mental/spiritual training.

Just because you have to keep to certain rituals every day, eating, training, getting enough sleep, doesn't mean you've become egocentric. Many ways of life can make you become an asshole, you have the power and choice.
