but coach isn't he an outlier?

we get your point. i'm refuting it

respectfully. let's have an intelligent discourse for a second here on this topic if we can. i simply disagree with your view, coach

i think the majority of PL are very sloppy looking. you can post a few photos of good shape ones and i can post a few photos of bodybuilders who look like shit and it proves nothing

let's discuss

Bit off topic but... I like Malcolm Gladwell's writing but his book Outliers (that was the one on talent v 10000 hours right) was total horseshit.

It basically espouses that there is no such thing as talent, that the top people practise more. Anyone who has achieved or been around academic or sporting "geniuses" would know this.

yes i agree with YOU on this

i don't know the book

however I do believe that repetitions as in hours practiced at something makes someone PROFICIENT

geniuses however are born geniuses

but how many slip away due to drug abuse

or slip through the cracks because they were born poor

those weren't given the chance to exercise their genius. they weren't given the chance for repetitions

it's like this in fitness terms. The most gifted muscle insertions and best responder (phil heath currently by a MILE)

would not really be much if not provided the means or opportunity to discover his athletic talents

and  bodybuilding prowess

remember he was a D1 point guard who was a starter at the height of 5'9'' and he could dunk (check youtube)

that is INCREDIBLE athleticism

point being if he never was given a basketball

or never given weights

then later never introduced to hormones

which he has beautiful control over

because i know from watching his offseason to olympia growth that he cruises most of the year on RELATIVE low doses then blasts into the show

VERY SMART

unlike kai

so my point is... what is a gift if you don't know you have it

or you are buried by circumstances that outweigh it?

You could get 1000 people and train them to death at basketball, if one is 6ft8 and another is 5ft3 guess which one will do better?

I have been lifting 13 years, have shit calves and shit triceps. No training or even drugs will make me surpass someone with those genetics. Least I'm smart.

No you can't do that

You introduced an external variable into the argument that wasn't assumed in my own therefore you haven't discounted anything but your own theory

We didn't say everyone is given the same
Opportunity! Of course most 6'8" people will excel further if given the same
Repetitions over time as a 5'3" person. But that is a.. Communist view point per se which is a new variable. Not everyone is given the chances

Allow me to rephrase

How many 6 footers are there in the NBA who had tens of thousands of hours of practice

Who would be immediately replaced by a 6'6" guard who never had the opportunity to play basketball before
Due to circumstances of life, but through a flip of a button they are transmitted the talent?

No more 6 foot basketball players

You're argument is a two way road my friend

Fat out of shape strong man with a title like that I expected to see a picture of the coach.

I once expected to see a picture too

It was back on a windy, rainy evening at 11:59 pm when the tornado started

When the clock struck midnight and it was no longer August 6th

The tornado destroyed my mar's town

From my airplane the wreckage spelled out on the potato fields:

"The trainer is a fraud and a notorious bum driller "

You sure about that, some guys do two 1hr sessions per day in preps... most the amature lads I know are very into cardio off season too

Current GOAT big z is one of the strongest human beings ever, must have at least a 60" kegfor a belly

Positive. 1 hr on a bike or treadmill with a steady state does little for conditioning. You have to put in prospective the amount of "cardio" it takes to do strongman events. The actually have some pretty amazing cardio.

You've heard of this Jon Andersen guy?

I saw him on a powerlifitng magazine next to FLEX at Barnes & Noble. MuscleMag also did an article on him. He's a pro wrestler, too.

Speaking of powerlifter/wrestler guys, how could I forget......Big E Langston.
