Does anyone else find that the embedded youtube vids don't show? I get the space where the black screen should be but it's empty. Real pain in the ass and only seems to be the case on this site. Others the screen is there and I can press play and watch it.

Jeezus someone made this exact same thread last month.
And yes iphone has these issues as well.

Was there any solution? I am getting fed up having to load up dolphin to watch links to Jason Blaha's updates and Hebrews beating up white squares!

3. Close and open Safari again
It's a hassle but it works for me every time.

Not the thread I was thinking of but hope it helps. I think some people said clearing the cache helps. Also exiting the page then going back in.

Thanks for the advice and links guys. Shit works fine using the browser 'Dolphin' but I keep forgetting to use it.

Sorry, by "close and open" I mean you have to quit Safari (double-push the button at the bottom of the iPad that brings up the list of running apps and stop the app from running) then open it again. Did you try that? If you just close it (i.e. hide it from the screen but don't "quit") I don't think it works.

Ah..I get you. I wasn't closing it properly. This does work - if anyone is viewing this after doing a search, this does work. Shame Apple makes you jump through hoops. Thanks man.

I stand by my iPad usage. Fapping has never been easier. It's like a whole new world has been opened up to The Fap...

I had this problem plus iPad wouldn't remember my log in details.
Go to Settings -> Safari -> Privacy & Security -> Do not track : OFF, Block Cookies: from third parties and advertisers, Fraudulent Website Warning: ON.
Click on both: Clear History and also Clear Cookies and Data.
Let me know if this works.

Just to be clear, you are asserting that clearing your cookies will allow for embedded video to work on GetBig?

I eventually can figure out how to solve all of my computer problems....with help from the net of course.
You have to do precisely what I posted above.

That used to work for my iphone but not anymore. The only temporary solution I've been using is going to settings, safari, clear cookies, open safari browser, go to history to find the last page you were on, and the video pops up although that also logs you out of getbig. It's a real pain in my sack
Edit: whoops just saw Vince's post

Do you have to do it each time, or does one "cookie clearing" do the trick into perpetuity?
-
I think it helps to Turn Off Private Browsing. I needed to do this to get the iPad to remember passwords. To do this open Safari. Click on the + sign at the top right corner. Then in the new page go to the bottom left corner and click on "Private". Then follow instructions to Turn Off Private Browsing.

Every damn time for me. I rarely watch vids on here anymore. It's really cramping my getbig experience

Then my solution is better. Kill the browser (double-tap the home button and swipe up Safari), and then reopen Safari. It's a one-time solution, but far less onerous than dumping your cookies. No video is worth that.

It works ...until I log in and then the vids go invisible again. Hulk's fix works each time.

I had another go at doing this and I think after clearing history, cookies and data you have to turn the iPad off by holding both buttons for several seconds until it goes black. Wait a while then turn it back on.
Worked for me.

So wait...every time you want to watch a video on GB with your iPad, you clear your cookies and your history AND perform a hard reset on the device? Lmao! Why not just hit the fucker with a hammer too?

Haha, exactly. Apple makes its users jump through hoops just to watch a little fucking vid on a web forum.
Surely Vince doesn't need to do this each time?

Nice. That worked. I wasn't closing out safari. Thanks!

I sure don't like using iTunes to sync with the iPad. That sucks big time. I tried some wireless apps to upload photos and music but it was too much trouble. The iPad is a slick device and very popular and rightly so. However, I want something bigger so I can
show friends my photos. 13 or even 15 inch tablet with high resolution screen would be great. Then have heaps of storage space and be able to upload and download to the device. At the moment the Surface Pro 3 comes the closest.
12 inch display and not the silly long one that some have. I prefer 3/2 ratio for photos. The Surface Pro is probably the first laptop replacement that I have seen. A bit expensive for the top of the line model but probably worth it.

I wouldn't go that far because I dropped my ipod in the washer with my gym clothes. I got it out, put it in some rice and it works good as the day I bought it. Old faithful, baby!

No thanks to your offer. However, I think I mentioned above how to make Safari remember passwords. I think you open Safari then click on the + at the top right corner. When the new page opens go to the bottom left and turn OFF private browsing.

I have one for sale...cheap.

In the wifi settings under network, there is a list of SSIDs that you connect to. The one that is failing needs a password and there is something stupid like a "remember this password". That box get unchecked somehow, sometimes.
