Title: Getbigger-worthy commuter car
Post by: MP on September 08, 2014, 08:11:25 PM
Looking to add a 3rd vehicle to get back and forth from work.

Looking for fuel efficient, AWD (live in the northeast) and 4-door (kids).

Don't need a Porsche ... but not driving a fucking Prius or Honda.

What decent, reliable car should a Getbigger own (not lease)?

A Subaru XV Crosstrek is a great option but tough to answer without knowing what you want to spend.

A Subaru Legacy might do the trick for you. I have one for trips & the AWD when I don't wanna drive my truck - it gets 30+ mpg, has decent power & is comfortable...

LOL.... if we apply the "getbig syndrome" to your calculations, translation:

"The 1994 Chevy Cavalier just gave up, credit union will only approve a loan on a car with a clean title, will the Honda "Fit" be a good choice?"

LOL

You actually drive your kids around? Should make them walk. Then when they complain, you say to them, "In my day, I walked 76 miles in the snow to get to school. And that was ONE WAY."

Under 30K.

Check the Crosstrek out. Close to 30 combined, good, pice point, great for kids and you can't kill Subarus.

Al, serious question. Do you use this term around your kid? Assuming the wife already wised up and bailed, but the kid?

That's what my granddad used to tell me.

My grandpop used to say, "Sonny boy, when I was your age, we used to play with rocks and sticks for fun. Now these guys have all their electronics."
