But since 90% of peoples real identities aren't known on here, aren't we all in effect just one giant gimmick anyway?

What about a member using someone's real name and pic? That's a gimmick... So the no gimmick rule doesn't apply here.

This. We don't want "fluff" clogging up the forum and we also don't want one person simply talking to himself. That shit looks crazy when you realize what they are up to.
Other reasons as to why we don't condone gimmick use are:
When some people employ the use of a gimmick account, it's because they want a deeper layer of anonymity that would allow them to say the things that they wouldn't like their main account to be associated with. For instance, you're on the fence with regards to how you feel about a certain member, but have never had any direct confrontation with said member, in turn, you ramp up the old gimmick account and attack him/her a bit to see where their breaking point is. Conversely, you use the gimmick to befriend said individual, but keep the allegiance limited to that of gimmick use.
You can also create gimmicks to imitate real people (Wes Gasporotto comes to mind) and that is not allowed, for as it can bring about problems for the real individual.
You can also create gimmicks to bring about havoc to the site. You use the gimmick to flood the forum or destroy threads, knowing very well that only that gimmick account will be banned/deleted, while you can always go home to your main account.
These are all things we are trying to avoid. There have been some members that are highly talented when it comes to working with their own gimmick accounts, but the vast majority of members don't have that level of tact when it comes to that kind of thing (most personalities and/or writing styles/grammatical mistakes tend to seep right through sooner or later).

Did you get better over time spotting gimmicks, who is for real or who is fake? Or did you just naturally have that intuitive 6th sense like I do?

Well, I don't think it was a typewriter either. And since I don't think you've been registering these gimmicks I have to think you did something else.
But, you claim to care about traffic and the forum. If you were to do something shady, that might cause forumers here think if you could do that, you could get THEIR passwords too. Then their PMs aren't safe. If you could get passowrds, maybe you could also get IPs. Then their personal info isn't safe. That would cause them not to post here and limit traffic.
Since you care about these things, you wouldn't do something like that, right?
Under those assumptions, the options are getting limited.

OneMoreRep even gave the person in question the opportunity to supply evidence of the allegations, it was never provided.
So if you agree that is not acceptable why should it be acceptable for a mayor of her province me impersonated and used to stalk and harass booty exactly?

Omr told him to eother put up or shut up - he promptly shut up. That was the deal. Then after that she tried to leverage thenfact that he changed to a different account to get him banned, even though he stopped harrassing her pretty much altogether when told to.
And shes still whining about it trying to get him banned, even though hes completely ceased saying anything to her at all.
At this point she needs to get over it, OMR did what he needed to do and stopped the harrassment from happening. Its over, but she wont let it go because she felt she had some leverage to try and get back at someone that got under her skin.
