Wonder what the size on the tags say on those jackets? They aren't the same size, that's for sure. They should call Phil the Illusion.

He has a gift of narrowness.

His small frame makes his muscles pop more and that he's narrow makes his arms look big so it's a blessing in disguise really

Phil is VERY lucky the sleeves on the jackets are black...if they were a light color he would REALLY look narrow as wider competitors would look MUCH wider.  Maybe he had input on the design. ;D

that goes against all logic

wearing less clothes would be more effective at creating a thermogenic effect, not more clothes

fuck you people are ignorant..... when it's cold, the body will use energy to maintain body temperature, this will increase metabolic rate, and is considered a thermogenic effect........

Thermogenesis is the process by which the body generates heat, or energy, by increasing the metabolic rate above normal. This rise in metabolic rate is referred to as the thermogenic effect, thermogenic response, or specific dynamic action (SDA). Thermogenesis is activated by a few different mechanisms, including supplements, nutrition, exercise, and exposure to cold.
Among the nutritional activators, the various macronutrients have different effects on the thermogenic response. When you ingest food, your metabolic rate increases above the fasting level. In the case of protein, energy to process the protein, which is then used for tissue growth and repair. On the other hand, carbohydrates and fat function primarily as fuel and are used more efficiently as such by the body. Carbohydrates and fat therefore have a much lower thermogenic effect than protein.

Thermic effect of food (also commonly known simply as thermic effect when the context is known), or TEF in shorthand, is the increment in energy expenditure above resting metabolic rate due to the cost of processing food for storage and use.1 It is one of the components of metabolism along with the resting metabolic rate, and the exercise component. Another term commonly used to describe this component of total metabolism is the specific dynamic action (SDA). A common number used to estimate the magnitude of the thermic effect of food is about 10% of the caloric intake of a given time period, though the effect varies substantially for different food components. Dietary fat is very easy to process and has very little thermic effect, while protein is hard to process and has a much larger thermic effect.2

Raw celery and grapefruit are often claimed to have negative caloric balance (requiring they take more energy to digest than usable energy received from the food), presumably because the thermic effect is greater than the caloric content, due to the high fibre matrix that must be unraveled to access their carbohydrates.

The Thermic Effect of food is increased by both aerobic training of sufficient duration and intensity and by anaerobic weight training. However, the increase is marginal, amounting to 7-8 cal per hour.1 The primary determinants of daily TEF are the quantity and composition of the food ingested.
