Great post. This is why I don't even watch a FREE Olympia broadcast anymore...it is a joke. Bonac should have placed in top 6.

If he shaves it down, and leaves some on one spot, he'll be a smaller more symmetrical Kai Greene. They have similar torsos, and Bonac has better arms and traps.

A friend of mine was at the British the year JD won the heavies and overall.
He said the heavies walked out and stood at the back of the stage and it was clear JD had won before anyone hit a pose, he was that dominant.

The weird hairstyle didn't seem to help Kai much this year....or was it his storied past?

It's a joke. The judges have their favourites (the established guys) and those favourites will be guaranteed a high placing regardless of how shitty they look.

His midsection in these pics leaves a lot to be desired, but he was a freak. There are some that you can tell right away, and then there are others that take time to blossom.

I believe this has always been the case. I remember going to a bodybuilding competition in L.A. when I was a teenager and my friend who was a bodybuilder telling me that basically it was a popularity contest. This was in the very early 1960's

He's pretty short but he looked great, should have easily been top 10 at least.

I think he was 15th (not 16th) but still, got screwed big-time.
