Post by: Slik on September 25, 2014, 07:02:33 AM
This guy impressed me as a kid. Was always featured in bob Hoffmanns md. Anyone got the scoop on this guy?  Was he blacklisted from the ifbb?  He coulda done some damage. I'm on phone n don't know how to imbed pix with it.

check out joe meeko's threads he talks how joe weider was trying to make himself and jeff king go thru many hoops to jump from aau, nabba to the ifbb. hr more or less wanted them to start from scratch to compete on an ifbb stage.

Yeah. Wen I posted the other guy that came to mind was joe meeko but there's a lil more history about him. Crazy mofo then became born again.

Joe 'never waste a barrel' Meeko, I read he always filed his syringes full, if he had a 5ml barrel he filed it, 2ml barrel filled it.
I dont suppose he took much notice of weekly dosages.

Victor Terra had a great Labrada-like physique. A shame he never got the recognition he deserved.

he later contracted Lyme disease and had a lot of problems after that. some guys who knew him better than me said he was real;ly suffering he went to a picnic and played volleyball they said he just did a little jump and his leg literally fell apart. soon after he committed suicide. he actually was going to come up one day and train with the gold but it snowed that day and he never made it off his  mountain where he lived.

ALL the horrors you hear about past bbers breakdowns/mental illness or ongoing physical illness are all the same ,small guy goes local to national level quickly ,gets bigger and bigger ,becomes pro and notoriety ,known on a physical sense as a 'god',impossible to go backwards and normal physically and mentally without some issues..

I have said many times that had Jeff King been allowed to compete in the IFBB, I don't believe Haney would have 8 Sandows.

Serious philosophical ponderings of the all important subject of men in thongs.

Like Soren Kierkegaard, only different.

weider picked and chose which nabba guys he allowed into the ifbb. brian Buchanan, bertil, kawak, and several others got to jump over. jeff king, mike Quinn, and several others were told their titles were not recognized, so they had to qualify.   Quinn is the only one I can think of, who as a two time mr. universe, went to the mr. usa and won the overall to qualify.

maybe it was just the American guys he made jump thru hoops, and the Europeans were allowed to jump ship???

He was indicted in 93 and not sure if he was convicted.  I saw him at a contest in MA and he was big and shredded!

Jeff is a physical therapist for Baystate Medical Center in Springfield/Greenfield MA.
