Title: NFL-Cowboys VS Jaguars in London
Post by: Skorp1o on October 06, 2014, 08:43:56 AM
I'm getting into this NFL stuff aka real football  :P

I was going to watch Raiders vs Dolphins last week, but my good Murican friend VP advised me against the team I wanted to support....I am now an adopted Broncos fan. Nonetheless, they're not playing here, but come November Cowboys are playing Jaguars in London. Is this worth watching fellas? any fans of either team?

Mate of mine was actually selling his ticket to the Raiders vs Dolphins for only £15 since he was going to Vegas at the time. I messaged him on FB to buy the ticket but he had already sold it by then.
Either that or he just didn't want to sell it to me. :'(

I know the chatter around the league is a name change for the "offensive" Washington Redskins, but the team desperately needing a name change are the frickin Miami Dolphins.  Let's call em the Sharks or the Barracuda.

Won't be long till London gets its own team...

Best way to watch murrican football is the 1hr highlights on sky sports, the full game is far too long without much happening, its a great game to watch tho, there's some real athletic beasts

That being said id still opt for premier league, champs league and rugby union internationals over NFL in my viewing priorities

Two non stop 45min halves with one 15min brake...

Live NFL game lasts hrs and can be compressed into 45 mi s actual action...

Not to mention that in an NFL game, no one does anything for more than 10 seconds at a time.

I am talking about action. NFL has far more action on average than a soccer game.

This is coming from an American who actually enjoys watching the World Cup.

an NFL running back / corner back / linebacker / defensive end are probably the best athletes in the world.

ultimate combination of size, speed and strength.

I wouldn't say cornerback. All of them are fast, but some of them are bean poles afraid to tackle.

Without question.  Put a guy like a prime Stephen Jackson or Prime Ray Lewis in to Rugby league and guys would literally die on the field.  Pro Rugby players are equal to Division-2 football players in the states.

This is very accurate. And rugby is a GREAT sport. I have played both football and rugby.

Rugby is essentially high-speed "horseplay". Football will get you hurt. Think JJ Watt running full speed into you.... Spinal cord = disconnected.

Jaguars are a good team, Skorp. An old friend of mine is on their offense.

You are comparing apples and oranges.
Firstly, Ray Lewis or any NFL player wouldn't be able to hit anyway near as hard in a rugby game as he would in an NFL game due to the lack of protection.
Secondly, an NFL player covers only around a quarter of the distance to that of a rugby player during an entire game.
So sure, Ray Lewis might be a wrecking ball in the first 20 minutes or so of a rugby game, but how effective will he be after 60 minutes when all those fast twitch fibres are running on empty?

Being a superior all round athlete means being blessed in several attributes, not just two or three.

This a good point. However most defensive players are very well conditioned. When you think of the big huff and puff fatsos that is generally just the offense. They might take some time to get acclimated to the faster pace, but I think they would do fine in this highly hypothetical scenario.

To answer your question: the Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the worst teams in the NFL, and the Cowboys are looking like one of the better teams, with one of the best offenses in the league.  So it'll be a one-sided blow out.

Still, the Cowboys are a talented team and they'll probably put a show on....it'll be fun to watch, just not very competitive ;D

agreed.

went to a game in 2009, drove hella far from boston to get there with three friends who are rampant bills fans

my expectations were low because i thought "the bills?"

best. time. ever.

friendly fans, unlike the fucking giants or jets

and EPIC tailgating

however i almost got frostbite and i remember the score as being something like 0-3 (bills won)

but that isn't what it was about. the comaraderie that that fan base has is UNBELIEVABLE and i would say (having been to both stadiums for home games) the ONLY team that rivals the bill's experience/fan base is OAKLAND

(kidding)

IS SEATTLE.

not even sucking cock here slightly, but i've come to realize no one is the man and genuinely has good/humble taste. and likes pit bulls. i aspire to be like him when i'm 70, or whatever his age is (jokin!)

actually N.O. i'm trying your  (and to an extent Gal and TA's) methods of diet and training literally now. Today i consumed roughly 1,200 calories (along with clen and a bit of tren. i'm on 400-500 mg weekly now--i always miss a shot somwhere in the week).

you got my attention when i said fuck it and tried your training method you posted this past sunday... did back... 25-30 mins (i know should have been shorter), in and out, NEVER have had a pump like that without anadrol.

I'm sure tailgating in American sports games are great fun but few things could beat this kind of stadium atmosphere:

buffalo fans do it right. you'll be about a mile away from the stadium and theres just a huge haze of smoke above the parking lot from all the fires and bbqs going.

ya man. you know what- its not about any 'one system', you know? i just post what works for me. there are so many guys that have posted solid advise on this board. i found what works for me. whos to say what will work for you isnt a combination of what works for me, what works for gal and what works for TA or disgusted?

its just about making everyone *think about what they are doing and why, because all to often people just do things becuase, well, thats what your supposed to do. once you start to think and ask questions, maybe you'll find something better.

dude i come off as a huge asshole on here. i know that. part of it is my personality irl. but i do have a genuine interest in helping anyone and everyone who'll listen. i get a kick out of helping people maximise their results in the gym. cause it its about self betterment. your helping someone improve. i think thats a huge thing if you can positively impact someones life like that.

thats why when i get someone who has never even tried what i suggest saying im full of shit i get irate. cause it might discourage someone from bettering themselves. that pisses me off. if you want to be stuck in a rut and closed minded then fuck fill your boots dont let me stop you. but dont spout off about shit you have no clue about. just sit there, carry on your way and shut the fuck up. let people who want to learn and better themselves do so. and in real life id be more than happy to tell you to shut the fuck up if you think that part of me is an internet persona.

follow the routine to a T. in 9 weeks you'll be carrying that pump from workout to workout. you just keep looking bigger and bigger every consecutive day. its ridiculous.

and in keeping w the thread its on my bucket list to go back to the west coast of canada, travel vancouver island in a van w my dogs and sleep on the beaches, and go see a seahawks game.
