Damn he almost had it :)
-
Sooooooo close. I loved when the bar came smashing down on his chest and he pushed with all his force. Sooooo close.
-
WTF....what the hell was the point of that.
-
Wow that was close. I really got my hopes up after seeing his spotter deadlift 405 for him.
-
That samoan needs to pack on a few pounds and bulk up more for a 725 lift. ;D
-
I know Spoto was shitting his pants watching that video.

This fucking idiot would have been literally dead if not for those safety racks.
-
oh brother ::)
guy couldn't press 315 without the dude behind him deadlifting off him again
he did 405, and had to get help lifting it , then he attempts what they claim is 725lbs ::) ::)
-
they also have
45s x 2 = 90
35's x 12 = 420
25's x 2 = 50
Bar = 45
total is 605lbs
fucking lying ass islander
-
The man would probably benefit from a terrific chest workout that Lee Priest got from someone on this website.
-
interesting suicide attempt right here

It easily could have been 725, you can't tell how much it weights from the video :P I don't think it really mattered for the guy, it's not like it made him any closer to that result :D
-
lol :D
-
Needs to take more creatine.
-
No doubt that 's 725...kid has a 1660 total with a 430 bench.
-
Al Jolson putting up weight!
-
Wild somoan appears
-
-
What a silly wee twit.
-
How come I haven't heard about the guy? Shame on me I guess.

Go to 24 hour fitness. He'll be doing 1/4 reps on the leg press.
-
Was this for real? :D
-
How come I haven't heard about the guy? Shame on me I guess.
He was the first to bench 700 in a powerlifting competition and bench pressed 705.5 pounds on March 3, 1985. That and his 718lb record are considered assisted because he work a prototype of a single ply bench shirt which isn't much better than a tight tee.
-
Haha what did i just watch? ;D ;D ;D
Brutal equipment, massive build, more technical than a ninja and epic spotted 4 plate reps ;D ;D ;D ;D
Love him for going a quick second time. Delussionitis displayed at it's purest form.

he didn't even lift it an inch off his chest the first time, then he goes in a second time and it caves in his chest a few inches down

Ted went to the same school I did...he must have hated it because we could never get him to come back and he was like hour and ahalf away.
-
Shame he didn't tear a pec on the second attempt, or at least fracture a vertebra
here's hoping he tries it again
-

I trained with him a few times at Peps gym in MA (long gone) and have seen him a couple times in Manchester NH.

Yeah he went to Norwich....and I was on the powerlifting club there. I asked a couple of times if we could get him up there but somebody said he didn't do much with the school. I think at that time he had equipment or supps..or both under his name. The guy was a legend.
-
Anyone who benches 700 raw is guaranteed to look like absolute shit. Not that looking a certain way is what they care about.
-

Yes Peps gym, Ted talks about it once in a while. We go out to eat monthly at our favorite seafood place Peteys - Rye, NH). Ted's like family.
(We go to his yearly Xmas party with his whole extended family as well, talk about an Italian feast.. Ma' Don..).
Great guy and still looks excellent at 54. A pic from a month or two ago. Cropped myself out of course, Im short, fat, ugly :D

??? He looks like shit
-
The spotters should have refused his second attempt. The idiot could have killed himself.
-
Eric Spoto benches 700 pounds raw. Starts at 2:35. And the delusional moron with the face paint thought he could bench 725 lol
-
real bitter fat boy told me yesterday at the gymnasium
that elite bench pressers inflate their chests with saline injections to reduce ROM
i said sure that could be true ???
if it helps you sleep at nighht

Did you show him your guns?
-
This is Bench press : Doug Young
-
With all sincerity, I probably laughed harder watching this video than I have watching/reading anything else, ever, on Getbig.
The delusional/retarded guy couldn't even hit one rep with 405 and he thinks he's got a shot at 725.
As another says, without the safety rails, "Beast" would likely have suffered life-threatening injuries. No joke.
"You got this, Beast!"
"Get it up, Beast!"
"He's got one more!"
:D
-
Did you show him your guns?
fat boy wears shirts with slogans
I DONT FLEX
I LIFT
and
I SEE WEAK PEOPLE
etc
thinks he is some sort of titan of strength and permabulk
..............
he tells me he thinks it's pathetic the dumbells only go up to 60kg
i ask, well how many times can you press em ???
he says
"i did 2 x 6 once"
fucking lol
weak son of a bitch, i can do them for 10 and i am not a fat ego lifting sack of smashed assholes of 125kilograms bodyweight
i didnt say that tho, my mama always said dont argue with insane people
-
Good Lord, just watched this. What the fuck was that? The bar just fell on him.
-
Dumb attention whoring sack of shit, even if he actually pressed 405 x 2 himself that somehow equates to a 725 single? Fucking useless cu nt
-
This is Bench press : Doug Young
When I was a kid in Lubbock, Doug young was my hero. I used to see him working at the local sporting goods store. He was the strongest guy on the Tech football team with a bench of 360, as a 215 pound guard. Probably drug free at the time.
-
At first I though they guy may be mentally ill. However after a second look and watching him talk I think he is simply extremely delusional. People always talk about bigorexia or whatever. However I have seen lately a lot of the opposite. I don't know a good name for it but it is people who look like a small gymrat and really believe they are huge and shredded and or much stronger than they actually are.

I notice this as well.
Like if gymrat can bench 225x8 then forecasts a 1RM of 405 :D

Young was a beast. Just a mountain of a man. What was his personality like though ? Friendly guy ?
-
Arcidi made that look easy
he was an amazing bencher
is he still alive?
-

Strong, silent type, at least around me.
He had an intense look on his face. Huge neck.
I was a shotputter and at one of our meets a guy told me that Doug Young in high school had thrown the shot 60 feet at a body weight of 185...Phenomenal...
-
Obviously, a lack of makeup hampered his effort. ::)
-
Damn....He just couldn't lock it out...
