Does anyone remember those old school Tshirts from the 80s advertised in the back of magazines? They had images of huge muscle Frazettian or Vallejoesque warriors/minotaurs and captions like "Beef It" or "Next" or "The best revenge is living well."
Can't remember the company that sold them, but would love to see the ads again and would pay good money for a shirt like that today for the nostalgia/irony factor.

Yes, the fellow who drew them advertised with Musclemag, and was a frequent art contributor to Ironman Magazine, I think he was their staff artist for a while. Steve Cappello, or a name close to that was his name. Steve C- something italian.

Here we go, I can't remember the whole story, but he use to draw a lot of that style art work.

Yeah, those are the ones! Especially the half obscured one in the bottom right corner.
Thanks for posting this shot and to others who replied. If I had some genia pants and T Micheal sweatshirts in my closet still, I'd still rock em at the gym every once in a while.
Coming back?

Yes, there was a time when you might see someone actually wearing a one piece spandex wrestling uniform type leotard to the gym and then out in the real world. Spandex will return with a vengeance some day.
On the other hand, are they working out hard and do they have a good physique? I think I'd be willing to permanently wear what Roger Callard is wearing there to also have his physique.
