thats what I'm hearing, I've still been trying to lift and work but I think in the week and a half since I've injured them it's only gotten worse, so I guess now would be the perfect time to perfect my diet.

Had broken ribs and takes a while to heal. Best to rest rather than aggravate the injury.

how many, which side and how long?
-
I did it in BJJ. It's a three to four week injury. Resign yourself to this fact and don't do anything stupid.
-
Rest is the only way.
Trying to exercise or train (even lightly) will just aggravate it.

Only two on right hand side but was sore when breathing, sleeping, etc for a couple of weeks. After that it was still a little sore but nothing major. Now nothing.
-
Three on the right side and I'm about a week and a half into the injury, I had to pull an all nighter at work the other night and thought I was going to die.

I recommend watching the comedy channel. Laughter is the best medicine. :D

My wife teaches restorative breathing. Uses it with our athletes and clients who have pain. Biggest problem is getting your diaphragm to relax while the pain still exists. Last night my kid took a shot to the ribs during a game and was down for about 2-3min. Went to AT (Athletic Trainer) checked for broken ribs, tested his breathing and had him relax for a few plays. The breathing helped, came home last night and did more and more again this morning. It helped.

Figure resting and icing about 3 weeks, that seems to be the average. One of the things that I felt help were slow stretches like the t, ypes they use to correct posture, and after a bit, lightly weighted rotations. Stationary biking wasn't too bad either, if you really want to do something.

I broke a couple floating ribs and bruised a few others in rugby around the same time. It hurt a bit but shrugged it off.
Got a dead leg and couldn't walk right for three weeks even though I used to get them all the time.
Sometimes an injury hurts like hell sometimes you don't notice no matter the severity.
