there was another one a couple days ago I didn't watch. the cop who shot the pup.
so just tonite before bed I sat on the floor in front of the fire. the house was dark. just the light of the stove. both my dogs are asleep between my legs. my big one, doz, is laying on his side w his head in my lap. molly is laying on her side w head across my leg. I just sat there with them like that in the peace.
I can't understand animal cruelty of any kind. it doesn't compute in me. here's a 120lb AB in my lap. surrendering his love and trust to me. how anyone could intentionally harm any animal I don't get.
it's just evil. what else could it be called.

They see them as food, these are the same peoples that sell there young girls and boys into prostitution, I dont think animal welfare is high on the list

Cruelty is a different thing, but this is no different from mass cattle / chicken farming.

It's a cultural thing more then anything.
In the West, dogs are seen as a man's best friend. While in the far east, it's just seen as a source of food - much like chickens are seen in the West.
Funny you mention cows. In the West, it's just a source of beef and milk but go to India and see how differently cows are regarded.

there's something special about dogs. I can't put a finger on it.
I honestly believe whoever created all this put dogs here as our companions. I believe dogs are a very important animal to this creator.
those who take care of them will taken to a special place when we die to be reunited w them. I don't think there is 'one heaven' where good people all co exist after death per say but 'heavens' for each of us- each one of us gets our own special place where it's open sunny fields butterflies flowers and cool steams and our companions who we were separated from run and play.
I honestly believe dogs are special, they are our sent guardians and companions and we'll be re united w them.
that's heaven.

If his business is legal , I would buy the dogs before he kills them , if not I would beat the shit out of him .

I'm like Mark Twain in that the more time I spend around people, the more I appreciate my dogs.
I remember about 5-6 years ago when I first joined here, before a getbig virus fried the PC I was posting from on these boards, when Michael Vick was in all that trouble. I got into a long, pointless debate with a couple of NFL groupies here who were going to great lengths to defend him.
They seemed to really be offended that I believe what the shrinks say - that people who harm domesticated animals are very likely to be sadistic sociopaths who would probably harm children, women, or others who were helpless against them if the opportunity presented itself and they had something to gain from it - assuming they thought they could get away with it or that they just don't care either way.
