I do not because if I did, someone might think I give two fucks. But I also rarely complain about the people in office since I do not vote.

I will not vote today for the first tine in 55 years. I moved from Maricopa county AZ to Navajo County AZ.  Last spring we applied for absentee ballots...got a questionnaire last week to be sent in to get the real document.  Due to back and forth mail we will not be able to vote.

I believe all of my candidates and issues will be voted in despite my missing vote. It will be a very goodnight for America.

I usually vote but I didn't today.  Why?  Because fuck it, that's why.  What is the point of voting in gerrymandered districts.  In addition to that you are voting along with the deceased, illegal aliens, Mickey Mouse and the Easter Bunny.  It's a con.  The game is rigged.  Your vote does not matter.

Your time, energy and money is better spent preparing for the consequences.

It is a choice. It seems the people that do vote get very angry and upset at the ones who do not.

Got my ballot. Dropping it off at the polling place later. I was politically disenfranchised, but there is too much that just needs to get done. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

Voting... lol

Make the people believe they have a CHOICE, when the reality is... there is no choice... there never has been.

No matter if your guy is (s)elected, things only get worse... more expensive, more draconian laws enacted, more taxes, more fees, etc.

Politics is Hollywood for ugly people.

Seems like you guys are just figuring out now what some of us have figured out in our early teens. That's it's a bullshit dog and pony show. I'm 34 and have never voted in my entire life for anything or anyone. And life couldn't be any better because I didn't wait for a snake dressed in a suit to make it better for me.

All this furious voting and slogans of 'if you don't vote ...  bla bla bla puke' didn't make life better for ANYONE the past decades.

They can complain because there's literally nobody to vote for.

The bible thumping uneducated screaming halfwits (right wing), or the 'tax you to death to prop up the unproductive because we hate successful people (left wing).

Both of those are offensive to intelligent people.

No point.

ironically, after serving as a Marine and seeing the political landscape in the last 2 decades, i realized it doesnt matter.

I vote in critical local elections, like Washingtons background check hiding registration in it, and if i really hate a certain candidate ill vote, but thats it.

They do whatever they want regardless of vote.

A washihton governor demanded 3 recounts until she won.

When a bunch of corpses were shown to have vote, she said 'cmon, you lost, move on.' And everyone just said ok.

Except when it was her THREE fckn recounts.

Its all bullshit.

Sadly the voting system is rigged.

This should tell you enough about how dumb the system is.

Al Gore votes: 50,999,897 48.4%

Any monkey can tell you who had more votes and a higher percentage but we all know who ended up winning.  Democracy my ass.  You can still get the most votes and lose.  Isn't that what happens in dictatorships?

of course they can complain. Theyre tax paying citizens. Just because someone abstains because they cant stand the options doesnt mean theyve forfeited their right to aj opinion, thats a manipulation tactic to keep things the same.

Off course it's a manipulation tactic. A savvy 10 year old will see that. However, in this thread, we've had the usual dumbasses fall for it already. Naturally the first one is our lovable but dimwitted friend Joe, turning up with slogans straight from the manipulation book.

Yep. And so many people are sick of the mud slinging politics, you never hear about what policies they support and what they have done, its all about an 'us vs them' mentality. Some people treat it like a football game, where its team liberal vs team conservative. They both suck and it sucks that most people just eat up the two party system.

Exactly. You have to love that people actually believe that voting will make a difference in their lives, i.e., if I vote for the right person, they will do right by the average american citizen. You vote, the person you voted for gets elected, and your life still remains shitty, posting on getbig.  :D :D Vote or do not vote, it will make no difference in your life.

not only that, but your vote maked little to no difference.. it comes down to who manipulates the system/plays the game better anyway... the votes arent the determining factor, its who can cheat better.

I have never voted and no matter who is in office, I never see a difference in my life. Republican or democrat has made no difference to me. The only people who really see a difference from voting are the rich elite who can pull strings. People like us are to insignificant to be personally affected in a positive way by politicians.

Me too. The democrats here in Washington ran some of the most bullshit commercials for our anti-gun legislation... they said its "background checks for everyone so that women who suffer from domestic abuse won't get shot because their abuser went and bought a gun off the street".

Well, it turns out that particular piece of legislation also takes and records ALL background check/gun purchases in a STATE registration, which isnt subject to the federal statute of limitations on how long they can keep a record of your transaction.

Sneaky fucks.

So say I vote and get my guy in there.  The one that I foolishly believe is different.  Wise, and honest.

Then Obama just tells him to fuck off and does everything by executive order.....like he has done in the past and is planning to do again after the elections.

But for real, if voting makes people feel fuzzy, accounted for, important,  then nobody should have the right to throw cold water on their enduring delusions. It's when they start acting as if they've made any difference,  then we should point and laugh.

The ballots have to be postmarkes by 8pm last night, amd were all vote by mail.

Thats another BS tactic i noticed they were using... using extremely tiny early numbers from King country and trying to claim victory and hour after the deadline to have to ballots POSTMARKED.

This board is truly bizzaro world. People who claim to own multimillion dollar international businesses don't see the value in things like contributing a few bucks to your local politicians' campaigns in exchange for personal favors? Or voting for and supporting the capitalist over the socialist? Or that the fall of a nation like the US will affect every corner of the globe catastrophically?

I always vote, even if it's for a lesser of 2 evils. Neither party is perfect, and no candidate ever is.

I'll pick the candidate who's a little more outgoing about his religious beliefs than the other candidate if the first candidate is more likely to let me keep half the money I earn and not wipe their ass with the Constitution, and still believes in some form of free market capitalism over big govt socialism.

I don't vote on religion, abortion, or gay marriage - I have libertarian-ish opinions on those issues, but they are pretty much non-issues when it comes to my vote. Unless someone is advocating flying planes into buildings, stoning to death rape victims, and beheading homosexuals, these wedge issues are of no real concern to me either way.

I cannot begin to understand the minds of those who spend countless hours and thousands of posts arguing politics (often those of foreign nations) yet don't even vote?  ???
