So voters want a higher minimum wage, legal pot, abortion access and GOP representation. Ok then. ???

Americans aren't the world leaders in critical thinking...
Looks about right.

This is a "we're mad at Obama vote".
I have no idea why. Obama did exactly what he told them he was going to do (minus the corruption) when they elected him. I don't know what they thought was gonna happen.
This is what happens at the end of just about every Presidency. The ignorant masses that elected the POTUS get mad and decide they want the other guys even though they don't really understand what either party stands for. They just want something different.

The ballot measures are hilarious though. All things Republicans are against and they all passed. This is going to be interesting as to why and the explanations of such behavior.
-
Nothing new. It's a pendulum every few years. Don't like you leadership Waite a few years and we'll all be liberals again. Don't want to be a liberal Waite a few more years and be conservative again. Stupid.

Aside from your distaste for the Right's religious-based social beliefs/policies (which trouble me as well), and their too-often skepticism of science (again, troubling), which part of you is Left?
You're pro-gun, pro-cop, rather hawkish, support Israel, despise our coddling and enabling of minority thugs (blacks, at least), etc. Hell, you even seem patriotic (and damn proud of Dixie to boot), which sorta clashes with the Left's multiculturalistic anti-nationalism apologism.
Seems intelligence is paramount for you, but your common sense is also intact, which doesn't jibe at all with the Left. Is economics your ultimate deal-killer with the Right (or even more Libertarian-minded Independents)?

Memo to TA: the election was ONLY about a severe repudiation of Obama's policies. The electorate ISN'T looking for "more bipartisanship", they weren't looking to an "end to gridlock".
The American people just elected the greatest political landslide for one purpose: to stop King Hebrew from his assault on this country.
Any other "analysis" that you may want to provide is either clueless or deliberately misleading.

Right. Sure he did.
1. Obama Care
"If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor." (countless YouTube vids of this repeated lie)
2. Afghanistan
"It wasn't my idea to pull out of Afghanistan." (countless YouTube vids of him saying we need to pull out)

You got that right. See my previous post for two solid reasons why we should be.

Maybe this is the turning point for the GOP. Remember back in the 1860's that the Democrats were "the white man's party"?
Maybe they're becoming hip to the thoughts of the people.

Congress has about a 10% approval rate, yet they managed a 90% reelection rate!

So voters want a higher minimum wage, legal pot, abortion access and GOP representation. Ok then. ???
Minimum wage workers make a up a small % of total workers. There were plenty of other issues that influenced people's votes. I imagine the ACA is the real reason for the Republican win. That and a growing resentment against racial finger pointing and cover the Democrats have hidden under the past 6 years.

yep.
Im still pissed about Washington passing a "background check" law that actually instates a state registry of all firearms, using the background checks to gather data.
And it was hilarious, the commercials (largely funded by out of state anti gun folk, it turns out), pretty much weny like this -
My mom got shot by her abuser, we need to pass this to stoo domestic abused women from getting shot in the face like my mom!
*tears*
My mom lived but your might not! Pass this today and STOP domestic abusers from buying guns from private sellers without a background check!
*more tears*
Dont think, dont read the initiative, pass it now based on emotions alone, you dont want any more poor abused women to die do you?! If this oasses domestic abusers wont be able to buy guns anymore!!
*evil armslist ad, evil music plays*
Please, pass this today so your non doesnt get shot in the face!
*dont look at stats, dont read the law, dont think critically, look at crying woman and pass this law, paid for by gun haters everywhere*

Libidiots pretending like Obama's complete and total failure to accomplish anything snuck up on them.
Fuck you Harry Reed and Nancy Pelosi - die you ignorant cock-munchers.
-
Nothing changed. It's all the same as yesterday.

There are two Americas. Look at last nights blue (Dem) and red (Rep) map county by county. The liberals hug the coasts and the conservatives have the 80% balance ( with a few purple/mixed areas). Its a big red country with a blue border. Population wise its a balance.
Last night the Dems lost the female argument...big time. The blacks and Hispanics for the most part stayed at home. The youth without a pop star at the helm went back to their pitiful 13% participation.
The Republicans elected a black female to Congress in Utah......white ass Utah. They also elected a black senator in the deep south.
Liberal local issues were voted in on the coasts...not fly over America.

x2
Obama's campaign was basically "we're going to shoehorn the liberal agenda through", worked because everyone was all grumble-grumble-rabble-rabble about the Republicans at the time.
Fast-forward six years and now we're all sick of the Dems let's get the GOP back in there, rinse repeat.

This described the gun control crowd's tactics perfectly. And the Dem's tactics for that matter. All emotion, with a deliberate misrepresentation of the real life facts( which never, ever favor them when actually researched)

You're right, but one of our biggest problems is that the high-ranking Democrats are all conservative and the 'Walmart conservatives' aren't really conservative at all.
We need more *classic* liberals and conservatives....and then we need to give them better brains.

If you simply wiki both of them, you will see that she is the worse choice of the two. Voting just because someone as an R or D beside their name is stupid. Mia Love is really a religious dumbass.

.....but then Maxine Waters (D) is just fine. Right? Poly Sci grad from Cal State. Friend and long time patron of Fidel Castro. Lets see....the religious Mormon from Utah or the communist from South Central L.A. ? Hmmmmmm? Do I have to pick?

Gridlock? The Republicans are responsible for all of that and do not have any plans of their own at the moment to do anything. What exactly do you think the Republicans plan to accomplish and what do you think they will accomplish? My guess will be nothing or next to nothing.

Even next to nothing is easily 10X more than Obama has accomplished

Now thats just being plain stupid. I think doing some things is better than doing nothing.
-
Now thats just being plain stupid. I think doing some things is better than doing nothing.
Agreed......maybe you can explain why Obama chose to do nothing except:
Raise the national debt.
Lie about Benghazi
Start a war
Make no attempt to balance the budget
Lie about domestic terrorism
Lie about Fast & Furious
Lie about amnesty
Lie about his criminal A.G. Holder
Not fix the economy
Not fix the job market
Maybe having Obama do nothing is a better solution than having him do anything at all?
-

Good gravy, stop drinking the DU koolaid.
I think that the republicans should spend the next two years passing popular legislation that the democrats can't support. Make them go on record and then make Obama veto it. Spend two years turning the democrat label radioactive.
And approve no judges, appointees or treaties at all. Zero.
Very productive, I would say.
-
it's very simple, democrats have positioned themselves as the anti-straight white cis-gendered male party. But this group and their wives are the ones who vote in mid-term elections. The only "alternative" they were offered were the Republicans. The Republicans will take this mandate and use it to pass immigration reform, which will ensure that there are not too many more white dominated elections in the future and thus the death of the Republican party. Good riddance.

yes, a 1 party system. Genius, lets rejoice at the thought of a de facto dictatorship.

That's what we have already. The vestigeal existence of the Republican party just barely conceals the truth.

The US budget deficit fell to about $483 billion in fiscal year 2014, almost a $200 billion drop from the previous year and the lowest level of President Barack Obama's six years in office.
The US Treasury Department released the official figures on Wednesday, generally confirming figures released by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office last week. It's the smallest deficit recorded since 2008.
FY2014 was the fifth consecutive year the deficit declined as a percentage of GDP. It is now an estimated 2.8% of GDP, a percentage that puts it below the average of the past 40 years.

Hmm this is interesting:
"It's really a rise in revenues because of economic growth, because of the policies the president pursued, that we've made progress on the deficit," said Shaun Donovan, the director of the Office of Management and Budget.

Another fucking Lib idiot that doesn't know the difference between debt and deficit.
They spout the same bullshit to try to defend Obama. Next time try to understand what you're cutting and pasting. Same bullshit Dick Durbin made himself look like a fool over (again).
Anything to protect the complete and utter incompetence of your savior Obama.

You don't have to convince me. I knew he was an unqualified, racist, quasi-communist piece of shit before he was elected in 2008.
I just don't know why the people that elected him are surprised or mad about now all of a sudden. He is who he said he was.

A lot of companies who make goods for America which include "instructions" on how to use the item are printing in the instructions in Spanish first and then English. It use to be the other way around...White man's America is gone and gone for good...

Moron,

Bullshit.......Obama apologists with no freaking clue.
Obama to George Stephanopoulos:
In an exclusive interview with ABC News, President Obama rejected calls to balance the federal budget in the next ten years and instead argued that his primary economic concern was not balancing the budget, but rather growing the economy.
“My goal is not to chase a balanced budget. My goal is how do we grow the economy, put people back to work, and if we do that we are going to be bringing in more revenue,” he said.
Obama rejected a proposal put forth by Rep. Paul Ryan that would balance the budget in ten years.
“We’re not gonna balance the budget in ten years because if you look at what Paul Ryan does to balance the budget, it means that you have to slash deeply into programs, you’ve essentially got to either tax families a lot higher than you currently are, or you can’t lower rates the way he’s promised,” the president told me.
“If we controlled spending and we have a smart entitlement package, then potentially what you have is balance".

Im no economist, but spending more to reduce debt seems counter intuitive.
And yes, i understand growing the economy through spending, and i have a vague grasp of keynesian econ, but it seems to me theres never been a successful example where Keynesian economics have worked, except for post WWII....
And everytime it fails, someone like Krugman starts screaming how its not that the idea failed, its that everyone else failed. I feel its one of thise ideas that sounds great in a classroom, and worked in ONE particular set of circumstances, but fails miserably when actually put in real world situations...
Seems like they just refuse to accept that it doesnt work out the same way in reality that it does in classroom theory.

Spending is a nice way of saying they'll be paying money to companies that got him into office so they'll make max profit.

Spending more to reduce debt doesn't work for you or I.....but we're not the government, with the IRS as our collection agency.
Focus on the part where in his trillions of drunken sailor spending he makes sure the entitlement packages continue to remain or likely increase.
Now ask yourself......what did the Stimulus packages really do?
