Title: good idea or bad idea
Post by: NoCalBbEr on February 16, 2006, 10:29:56 PM
hey guys
I was wondering if it was a good idea or bad idea to train  more often. right now im training four days per week and everything one a week.  im thinking about adding a day to a 5 day per or a 4 day on, one off or a teo on, one off type of split.. what do you guys think?? i know that i have to change up my split. i have gained great gains with my current split but  i just have this drive to lift.  i hate the off days.

Thank you

yea, but its like im torn between my love of  workout and the love of bbing.  i know that recovery is the best thing besides eating to grow. but every off day, i fight with myself. with wantin to workout... if you guys think that  i should  stay they i'll do that. one of the things i would hate is to lose my gains

maybe you can do some other stuff on your rest days, like cardio or abs or work some smaller musclegroups like forarms etc
so it doesnt feel like youre doing nothing

Put up with the current routine, don't change ANYTHING as long as the gains continue. Go to a 2 or 3 day split, training each muscle twice weekly after the gains taper off.

On the off days, find other things to do-read, learn new things, etc.

Pumpster - I've been reading a lot of your responses, on this board.  Your advice is spot on...and you articulate it so well. I really like your posts.

yea i know bodybuilding  is like the only sport that less is more. i did some research looking at  some pros split. im not dumn enough to follow it but i did want to see how many days they lift. the funny thing is that most pros train 4-5 days per week.  so that keeps me inline. with sticking with the four day plit.

You have to rest though. It's good insurance to avoid overtraining and injuries.

If you are obsessed with BB then read and study the latest articles, mags and internet stuff on your day off. Good luck with it.
