You look roughly the same size as I am now (at 26 after a decade of training :D).
I never took any BB type pictures as a teen, but I remember having a blast lifting during college. Hitting the clubs at the weekend thinking I was Ronnie Coleman just because I had gained a few pounds of muscle for the first time in my life. ;D

You have asbestos shingles on your house, be careful not to break those, you could be in trouble.

Fucking shit! I don't wanna work out anymore. Haha

Ripped!!

I remember back when I first started lifting. I had the idea that more exercises meant I would get bigger. So my ass was doing a little over 100 sets per body part. I need to try to find some old pics of me.

But back then, what gave me the idea was reading "Arnold Schwarzenegger's Bodybuilding For Men". He talked about all the sets he would do. So I thought if he did that many sets I'll do twice as many and get better results. Haha.

Rest in peace John Defendis.

here is a sample of the kind of man John Defendis was.

Being a winner is an opportunity that we all have, but it isn?t a gift that we should be handed. We must work hard to earn the title of ?winner.?

We will never create a good society until individual excellence is once again respected and encouraged, especially for our youth.

When I say being a winner, I mean a winner in: Sports, in improving ones health, in your family life, in your work, in helping others to excel and being a winner in life in general.

Winning rests on not only an outstanding ability, but on commitment, discipline, pride, loyalty and hard work.

My friend Bill just turned 75. He is in the best shape of his life. In fact, he easily bangs out more than 100 pull-ups a day and looks great!

Bill has raised a fantastic family, helped and encouraged others to be the best that they can be and has lived an honest life with integrity. Bill is a winner, and I am so proud to call him my friend.

Here?s the truth: Life can hit you hard and you have to be prepared for it. Our losses are life?s lessons and we adapt by working harder and smarter.

I don?t live by, adhere to or believe today?s mindset of ?everybody is a winner and everybody gets a trophy.? This is the exact mindset that is ruining our youth and our society!

The truth is there are only a select few that have earned the honor of being called winners and champions. If you want to be in that class then you better be prepared to work your butt off and be the best that you can be.

Here?s my take on directing our youth and our children: How about we become strong and effective parents and mentors by walking the walk and being responsible adults with discipline and fortitude?

This means by staying fit and healthy and living a just life, a life with integrity.

We should teach our youth how to work hard and go after their dreams and goals, teach them how to handle themselves when they lose by shaking hands and then going home with a relentless pursuit to learn more, work harder, making a stronger effort and then come back and win and teach them how to be a good winner, a humble winner and one that can then use that WIN as a platform to motivate others to be their best also.

Why not put away the Nintendo, Wii and Playstation games and get these kids out there to compete in a sport, so that they can learn about work ethic, teamwork, sportsmanship, intensity and glory?

Why not teach them how to be a positive influence on others and to inspire people to go after their dreams and goals?

I ask you all to challenge some of the youth of today to dream ... to set goals and to go after those goals with a relentless pursuit.

Most of you look pretty jacked as teenagers.

I'm not posting a photo because I looked like a total twink as a teenager. Contrary to one comment though, I was 5'11 1/2" and not a midget as a teenager. I just was so skinny that anyone could have blown me away like a feather with almost no effort.

The plus side of this is that rather than getting fat when I don't work out, I get thin.

Adonis look totally swol on test, but same did I at the age of 17-20, u are on roids!! Heard it all the time, the thing was I just ate like a pig and lifted! Guess the natural hormone in the body at that age make u swol!

Don't underestimate natural high test lever, tons of food, heavy training! U grow! Look like shit from a bodybuildingperspective but look big in clothes!

back in the 80s before lactose intolerance was a household term, I used to drink a gallon a day to gain size..but in college I couldn't figure out wut the hell was going on...horrible stomach cramps and lived in the bathroom.  I suddenly realized i lost the ability to digest milk...an asian thing.  can't drink it to this day

It seems a lot of you folks have a diet history which includes drinking a lot of milk. I am not exception. When I was a teen, my mom complained that I was drinking so many banana eggnog milk shakes that either I'd wear out the blender or break the grocery budget. I was 126 lbs. soaking wet. Pathetic!

I made real gains though when I was in my late twenties and I was drinking whole unpasteurized milk a friend who had some cows was bringing me. I'd had to shake the fat into the milk because it floated to the top. This is probably when I acquired high cholesterol. I was also on a cycle of D-Bol, so that combination finally worked very successfully. I was definitely bloated, but I didn't care because I was finally "big" for once. Ha, ha.

He's my inspiration. There isn't snowball's chance in hell I could achieve what he has, but he keeps me trying. I am not embarrassed to give him credit, because he deserves it. This man is the most sensible and consistent bodybuilder I've ever encountered.

If you have not yet checked out his routine, do. He posts regularly on The Mature Thread. You might just learn a thing or two about bodybuilding that you didn't know.

Interesting to see guys 14-15 with belly hair, pit hair, hard phsyiques at that age. I was a late bloomer. Had some pubes around 12 i think but never got pit hair until 18 or so. I remember going to a doc once when i was 16 and i glued pube hair to my pits so it looked like all my friends at the time. Come to age 23-24 and my test levels were in the 350-450 range, so i think i just had some brutally low test all my life. I am jelly of the kids that had muscles and became men in highschool, but most burned out early and those were their best days. Im 30 now and look and feel great and look about 25, so my later years were better i suppose

The where that pic was taken was a small cape and my dad cut down over 100 trees to clear the back yard.  I was his laborer!

He did get me into good shape with all the projects!
