Billions? According to theists the universe is only 6000 years old.

Actually, most believers I know will admit that they don't really know such things. We also don't really care how long its been.  We also don't deny that there were dinosaurs or think as some of those funny meme's state, that Jesus rode a dinosaur.

We just believe in the Christ.  That God, like a human parent, doesn't tell His children everything because we wouldn't understand it.  Does an infant understand how a car works and would anyone try to tell a baby that is too young, too mentally undeveloped to begin to fathom something so "simple" to us but complex to them?

No.

The issue is that many fundamentalists do believe its 6000 years old. When it is quite clear that the universe is much older than that. I mean, there are rocks older than 6000 years old, let alone the universe. And while you may recognize the true age of the universe, many fundamentalists stick to the literal word of the bible.

I suspect you are correct.  I have a co-worker who believes the earth is no more than 10,000 years old.  I remind him that a thousand years is as a day to God and tell him not to focus on such things.  There are some things written in stone if you will.

I prefer them written in my heart.  That is my faith.  Not nearly good enough nor strong enough but it will have to be enough.  But only for me.  I have trouble living it.

Be well.

I'm no Bible thumper dude, but the Bible clearly states the earth was renewed ~6000 years ago, not created. Probably a good idea to do your own research directly instead of getting your info from websites.

And that is precisely why your lot is pathetically brain dead and stupid.

So you compare your mental capacity with that of a mentally underdeveloped infant.  I could not have said it better myself.

Is this article saying that 7billion humans have been on earth, drinking water, for 3 billion years?

Is that how they came up with the 9.5 multiplier?

Quote
Humans have been around for a few hundred thousand years, and the total number of humans who have ever lived is usually estimated to be around 110 billion. The question of how much water we should drink per day is the subject of furious debate—the "8 glasses" thing seems to be a myth—but the amount of water we actually drink per day seems to be about a liter. This amount varies a little depending on climate, but if we assume the average historical human drank a liter of water per day for 40 years, then our species has drunk about 100 trillion liters of water in total. 100 trillion liters (100 km3) is still very little compared to even the volume of all rivers (1,200 km3). This means that, since our drinking water passes through the water cycle and is quickly diluted by rivers and oceans, the majority of the water molecules we drink have never been drunk by any other human.

Sheesh, easy there mandinglet.  Why are you such a little bitch?  Do you think to gain nerdy street cred here in the Matrix with this tripe you think passes for intelligence and wit or perhaps you fantasize about being the center of attention at your local NerdFest  mental masturbation in the round.

Yours is a pathetic existence.   The name "Mandinglet" suits you. Via con huevos negros, Mandinglet.

I don't understand - you're not seriously suggesting that water is destroyed when you consume it - because that is not what happens.
Isn't that meme supposed to be a joke? Water is continuously recycled in the environment - when you urinate, sweat etc...

No, I'm pretty sure that only started happening when human beings started driving cars, manufacturing things and using incandescent light bulbs.  Before that, the climate was exactly the same every year.

The creationists are not too bright. And that picture proves it. The more they get backed into a corner, they more they try to work their way out of it. Unfortunately, there is only so much you can push back, especially if you do not understand science.

It's a sad state of affairs for this world and creationists are one of the primary reasons that the american educational system is screwed.

Direct quote from the Bible "All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again." This describes the water cycle. That picture is nonsense. It demonstrates poor researching skills. Probably a good idea to research the source directly rather than relying on websites.
