Title: Did you hear...Joe ran the marathon this weekend!
Post by: Croatch on November 17, 2014, 04:05:54 PM
No.  Did you hear I've been crushing weight for 2 decades?

I like it when people get praise for these one off things.  P90X is the other one.
"Jim is on the P90X.  I think he lost like 12 pounds?"

Nah.  Did you hear I put on 50 pounds of man muscle with no drugs?

Gotta love people.  You consistently train and all you get are incorrect steroid assumptions.  Some fat fuck loses 4lbs and they want to build him a monument.

I don't think Joe is tall enough to be allowed to run Marathons.

Most people get results from p90x because they go into it without having done anything active in a long time.  But after the initial gains, they plateau.  These types really know nothing about nutrition and think an everything bagel with low fat cream cheese every morning is "healthy".  They try another round of it, lose interest and quit.  What they don't realize is going for a run and doing push-ups, pull-ups and sit-ups 3-4 times a week could have got them where they are for free.  It's sad how many people buy into these programs.  I wonder if deep down inside they know that real change comes from basic, consistent hardwork and good nutrition....but wonder if maybe, just maybe this is the magical program that will change them.

Of course they could get similar results from a $7 Stew Smith military fitness book too, but that's not the argument.

The fact is, P90x is still low $$, and it gets people in shape who wouldn't have been.  It's easy and convenient, buy the disc, follow it, and get in shape.  Win - win for both sides.

It's much better than not having knowledge and going to the gym to do benches and curls.

That is true.  I guess if it motivates someone to be healthier then its a win.  I just never bought into it.  But I've never been a workout at home in private type.  I like the sports environment or the "someone's waiting for this bench so i better move my ass" environment.  I guess in the end we all have different motivators.

True.  It's not targeted at you and I.  It's targeted for those who don't want to bother researching or finding what works for them.  It's for those who want just have it all laid out for them and be able to use at home.

Of course the basic premise is mind bogglingly easy - intense work for an hour a day six days a week to lose weight...of course.  Plus it's so corny.  But it works too, and that's what gets more people to buy it.  My brother is an pretty good athlete, but is married with a kid and goes to work at 4:30 every day.  He's used it, and got in great shape.  Very convenient.

I've never done it outside of trying the plyo disc for full disclosure.  Wait - not true - tried the yoga and bagged it after 10 min.  ;D

Great insight.  Apparently you're alone on this thread.
Was the ass wound I gave you years back that deep? Haha, sad.

To your average American, "exercise" and "diet" are something you do for 4-8 weeks when there are things, then you go back to your regular disgusting lifestyle.
