It's funny when you consider that most of these rich pudgy socialists are tax exempt and/or movng their businesses offshore. They are anti gun, anti America, anti second amendment, anti prosperity etc.
He doesn't care, because he's got ARMED guards around him. Same goes for all those other anti second amendment types.
They don't fear guns wielded by people they control, they fear when people they can't control can carry and own weapons.
-
I am anti-gun
I've lived in 8 countries. 2 of them are full of guns. Both are very violent with high murder rates.
I am probably anti-gun because I was raised in a country with no guns.

What are the two countries you mention? And are guns legal there, or just in the hands of govt and criminals?

Thailand & USA.
You can own guns in Thailand and the police carry guns. You do need a license to own a gun.
-
I don't think so, they are just conditioned to think that guns = violence = bad. They have never had the thrill of hitting a target at 200m or breaking a clay bird in midair.
They also never seem to appreciate that when guns protect the innocent they aren't "evil" in that case.

Second admendment is here to stay. To remove it would be political suicide. Ranting about it is just far right talking points to charge up their base of uneducated middle american voters.
Background checks are a good thing and has nothing to do with your "freedom" to own guns.
This is coming from a liberal who loves his guns. Its a good idea to look past the Hannity noise and come up with your own thoughts.
-
Pro gun though I would not glamorize them.
To me it seems that many anti gun people despise fire arms because a deadly weapon means power and responsibility(training, handling, care)... lots of it actually.
The, thankfully few, criminals I've met in my life were well equipped with black market guns/ammo. It's pretty disappointing to see the filthy underbelly of society brimming with power and many citizens unaware of that they are just sitting ducks.
If you're own a gun here you are required to only use it for self protection, registered and routinely checked - ammo type, loaded or not, locked away. I would prefer open carry but unfortunately the agenda is against it unless you're a taxi or lorry driver on long distance routes.
p.s.: and yes, we all know that the champagne socialists can only roll their eyes when it comes to guns and other uneasy matters that life slaps upon us
-
-
One of the biggest anti gun politicians is Senator Schumer from New York. He has a carry permit for his handgun. It's only okay for elitistist liberals to have a firearm in his eyes.
-
If i lived in the USA i probably would have a gun or two. Not just because criminals but also because of a possible tyranny regime in a near future.
-
Better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it.
-
Despite coming from a beta, socialist , gun fearing country I'm very pro gun ... Especially as there was an armed home invasion just this weekend next door.
Living close to Guvmint Hebrew Housing you'd have to be functionally retarded not to keep at least one gun in the house in case they decide to claim some reparations for new Nikes and rims
-
Good point. Any politician from now on who is openly (as in campaigning or voicing in public) anti-gun, must only have bodyguards that carry a baguette.

Well - I'm English and we have lots of shotguns there - so I have been "clay pigeon" shooting. I agree it's a lot of fun and by no means easy. I've also shot rabbits and pheasants in the UK. I sort of don't even see shotguns as guns to be honest. More as a tool for farmers!
I've also fired rifles in rifle clubs as a kid, (nor air rifles, real ones) although I'm not sure what the story is about rifles now in the UK. I think it would have been 1982 at 12 years old I last shot one there. Never had much interest and never got the opportunity after that.
I don't think I've ever seen a rifle outside of a gun club but shotguns are common place where I grew up in Staffordshire and then later in Hampshire, it's not at all uncommon to see a farmer walking along with a shotgun over his arm and a few bunnies in his pocket.
I've never shot a pistol though or any sort of automatic weapon. Obviously whatever the laws are with guns in the UK - you could NOT defend yourself with a legally owned gun in your own home.
-
The antii-gun nuts are looking for an easy target to blame for very complicated social problems.
-
I would love a world with zero guns. But that toothpaste is out of the tube now.
Therefore I have carried legally for 17 years. And I watch others. I stay guarded. I fe safe though. Just pack heat, look like a handful that's ready, and bad guys will usually bother someone else. I see a threat person or group in a room and I keep gun on ready, I usually come to them. Establish thru posture or eyes or hand position that "I ain't the mtherfcking one". I play scary places and pass thru horrible neighborhoods. Stay ready and don't smell like prey.
-
Anti gun people, for the most part, are just cowards
The antii-gun nuts are looking for an easy target to blame for very complicated social problems.
I strongly agree with both of these statements. Well done.

I keep an air rifle next to my bed, next to a golf club (neither are my sporting interests ;D) I just figure if someone tries to steal my car again, or breaks in during the night I'd like to point something at them, before it turns into a fist fight.

Funny. Like most of the folks in my vicinity, I keep a semi-automatic rifle (an "assault weapon") near me at night along with a plate carrier that has 4x mags, pistol and light.
Strangely, we never seem to have any crime. Occasionally, I have to ventilate a porcupine before it ventilates the dogs.

It's almost like you are hoping to be put into the position to shoot someone.

Are you volunteering?

I'm a happy firearms owner, i like the engineering, how they work, how they are made, the history, and so on... I'm against hunting, not against having a firearm...
-

You remind me of that movie where Michael Dougless just goes postal on everyone.
Kind of look like him too.
-
give a gun to every moron in America, fuck yeeeeaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!

I also have a LBT plate carrier w/6 mags, 1911 Pistol, and AR15 within 4 ft of my bed.
I also have lived in 3 different apartment complex where there have been 4+ murders, so call it prudent planning. (And these were NOT shitty neighborhoods.)
-
Guns should only be given to those who can bench 3 plates. Being very powerful I would make the cut.

I knew I liked you for some reason. I'd tell you folks what I keep handy but, you know, OpSEC.

Im all for gun ownership but how would it help against a tyrant regime? You get smashed if that were the case.

Not true. Nobody is gonna go toe-to-toe with an APC (MRAPs maybe), but those folks have to sleep...and eat...and resupply...and go home to their families.
Revolution is an ugly business and nobody plays by the Marquis de Queensbury rules.

I guess but I have a hard time believing that military grade equipment and weapons wouldn't beat armed civilians

Like I said, depends.
How motivated are the soldiers? How trained are the ones that didn't go AWOL once shit went down?
The general population has a lot of folks with active duty/combat experience. And not just the grunt level, but NCO and officer level.
And lastly, this is the US, everybody has access to "military grade equipment". Maybe not high-explosive (unless you try REALLY hard), but weapons and kit are mostly available.

Thats true, lots of retired vets with combat knowledge and experience. I would wonder how many current military personnel would go awol versus the ones who would stay. Of course there would be misinformation put out by the government in this type of situation so it might be so cut and dry for some of em. Lets hope it doesnt come to that though :o

I have a lot of friends that are still in at the command level. Let's just say that the AWOL rate in some combat and MP units would be close to 100%.
-
I have nothing against guns...I just don't understand the American fascination with them.

A few of us here go by Code of Duello 1777....

It's in our DNA. Like homosexuality in the European DNA.

Thats comforting to hear. I will get a gun eventually, not sure if it will be a pistol or shotgun but probably one of those two.

If you can, both. If its just for the home: the shottie. If you think that you might want to carry it: the pistol.
Long gun > handgun all day, every day.

Unless you're Native American, your DNA consists of European DNA...

It would definitely be for home defense, so yeah youre probably right about the shotgun

The United States is a European concept created by and for Europeans. America didn't exist before the Europeans came. Europeans are actually the native Americans and what are considered Native Americans are actually various tribes of pre-america people indigenous to what later became known as the north american continent.

How's that working out in Afghanistan and Iraq?
-
gayer than the second amendment.

You are also operating under the assumption that soldiers would readily invade their country and kill their fellow citizens. Perhaps if you were Abraham Lincoln, but I don`t think it would be near as easy to do today.

What are you gay what's not to like about them. They're awesome to look at I love everything about them. Doesn't every real man.

You don't sound intelligent enough to own one...that's where the problems begin.

I don`t understand the fascination with soccer in Europe. Its boring and crappy and lasts way too long.

Columbus discovering America is absolute horse-shit. Europeans have been to "America" hundreds/thousands of years before Columbus...

Nope. The soccer thing is on a whole different level of fanaticism though. A sport so boring and uneventful that billions watch like drones and then riot afterwards. And for what? What does anyone get out of it?

The post match riots are way more entertaining than the actual match.
Soccer is a sport for 5 year olds. Just a bunch of people kicking a ball around.
