Title: What are your macronutrient intakes at?
Post by: Method101 on December 06, 2014, 11:47:12 AM
Just curious to see what the mass monsters and broscientists on get big are eating.

I consume usually around 500g carbs, 170g protein and 40g of fat per day, this changes slightly with cheat meals/change of foods when I feel like.

So calories are roughly 70% carb 20% protein and 10% fat.

Lots of fat, lots of protein, good amount of carbs. Bodybuilding shouldn't be rocket science. Although some like to make it out to be that way.

756.4448 grams of carbs, 187.4857573 of protein and 56.759304 grams of fats and 9.75785 oz of water.

I have found these numbers to provide me with the most maximum gains.

How in the fuck do you eat 500 grams of carbs a day and still be 98lbs even with your long flowing ginger locks and McDonald's uniform soaked through?

I eat a lot of fruit/bread to attain those carbs, it is 100% serious. The amount of "essential fat" you need in a diet is very small and can be attained from fruit and vegetables alone, numerous studies have shown that it is optimal to get 10% of total calories or less from fat... Maybe my fat intake can be up to 50g a day but that would be a TOP estimate.

Protein comes from Chicken Breast, Whey, Eggs(The 3x eggs are my main source of fat) and Skimmed Milk.

You sound like a paleo diet guy with that 40% fat intake. Sugar = bodies preferred energy source, if you eat a lot of fat then that keeps your blood sugar levels elevated and stunts the bodies ability to absorb the sugar. Eating a high fat and high carb diet can lead to type 2 diabetes. High fat intake is associated with heart disease and there is such a thing as too much healthy fats, if your omega 3 and omega 6 ratio is out of whack then your body cannot form EPA and DHA which leads to numerous health issues and you would be better off with a much lower but balanced intake of the EFAs.

How many runners/cyclists/top powerlifters get most of their energy from fat? fuck all! If you look at the diet of most top Olympians it will be at least 5g of carbs per lb of bodyweight to fuel their training/competitions lol.

I don't keep track of macros and I don't count calories. The only thing I make sure is to get a minimum of approx 30g of protein per meal, but it's easy to eyeball if you have been doing this for a while.

my blood tests look SOOOO much better when I eat low carb. When I eat bacon, pork, steak, chicken, peanut butter, walnuts, and minimal carbs...my triglycerides are low as shit and HDL and LDL look amazing. Hell im downing cream with my shakes now and my HDL was 60. I couldnt believe it. I was on adex as well at the time. Thats up from 33-39 when I eat alot of carbs and do alot of cardio.

Honestly method is spouting nutrition info from the 70s, almost all of what he's saying has been proved wrong and not accepted as valid in the nutritional communities as of the 2000's. Seriously awful advice, plus the guy looks like shit as well (no offense method)

You base that on a 5 year old picture of my arm lol and I didn't even look shit then just small by bodybuilding world standards...

Big Chiro please show me the top athletes that consume a high fat diet for a fuel source, no I don't count cross fitters who are trying to sell Paleo crap but secretly probably carb loading on a daily basis.. I mean Olympians.. Runners/Cyclists etc. 5g carb per 1lb of bodyweight minimum and low fat..

The groups of people who live the longest all have diets of lean meat + high fruit and vegetables.. really speaking if you want to live a long life you should eat as little saturated fat as possible. Yes we all know the dietary cholesterol clogging your arteries has been debunked to some extent but saturated fat is disastrous for your health and you have some paleo people telling you that it's ok to eat upwards of 100g of saturated fats on a daily basis! LOL that will almost ensure you end up with heart disease in later life.

Also you have Paleo people saying that "Fat is needed for hormone production and raises your testosterone" this is another fucking lie and is like saying the more milk you drink the stronger your teeth will be, totally ignoring the fact that once you meet the RDA there is no additional benefit to consuming more and more. The essential fat you need for hormone production would be attainable if you just eat a few fruits and vegetables everyday as your sole fat source lol...
