Title: MacMahon on Austin Podcast
Post by: Thin Lizzy on December 10, 2014, 06:01:36 AM
Currently up on Itunes.

Some good stuff in there about his dealings with the old territory bosses. He makes a pretty good case for territories killing themselves off.

Did they talk about CM Punk?

Yeah, MacMahon apologized for officially canning Punk on his wedding day. Said it was a coincidence. Vince also pointed out the issues he had with Hogan, Warrior etc. and their eventual reconciliation.

My guess is that Punk will go back at some point.

They ALL go back.

Bruno & Hellwig were the only two I ever thought would hold out indefinitely. I was honestly shocked - moreso by Bruno.

I heard Jim Ross say that when it comes to wrestling marriages, bet the under.

Eventually, Punk will be paying alimony and perhaps child support. That's when he'll get ideas about calling Vince.

Part of me thinks this is a work anyway. Not that I much care either way. I still maintain that Montreal was a work.

Coincidence?  Surely Vince doesn't think people will believe that.

According to Paul Heyman, as a wrestling promoter you lie every day of your life. Can you imagine how many whoppers Vince has told over the course of his career?

I loved how Austing called Vince out on his infamous 1980's territory raid. Fucking guy destroyed wrestling. Its so boring now it isn't even funny. Ratings are at an all time low and they are only using two thirds of the arenas.

Punk did address this on part 2 of Colt Cobana's podcast. Said if Vince was truly sorry, he would have texted, emailed, called etc apologizing and not wait until he can appear like a good guy on Austin's podcast. He knew what he was doing.

Yeah, but it's not like Punk had never heard of Vince MacMahon before signing with the WWE. Wrestling promoters have never been known for their kindness and benevolence.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. Smart on Vince's part. Pay him off and get Bruno on their side so the smear campaigns (the truth) stops.
