From a pure physical attractiveness standpoint when it comes to attracting women.....may I ask What's the point of keeping the midsection tiny?
The thicker your obliques get the more narrow your hips are going to look in proportion to your waist. .... that's what you want.
-
I dunno... the most functional badass athletes you'd hate to fight in a bar or face down on an offensive line have well muscled thick midsections.
Powerful midsections do not look like Brian buchannon or Flex wheeler... these are graceful, wasp-like.

Is that all you talk about is women? When you go on a date, what kind of conversations do you have with women? What are the topics about?

Men/Big
Women/Small

Because having a small waist looks better.

I'll take a stab in the dark and say himself ;)

yes true but i think exercises like dumbbell side bends and other exercises can be useful if you are into martial arts or other sports. Remember when i was younger doing like 3x200 Broomstick twists(seated) it did not give me a wider waist but did tone my midsection. Of course no one does this nowadays but i did like it. Infact with a good diet which i did at the time my waist soon got defined. Hanging knee raises from a bar and double crunches...worked well.

I usually wear my Rolex around my waist.
Women ask for the time of their life literally 24/7.

a small waist is a sign of fitness, discipline and healthy living imo,it looks great also.i never believed in using any type of resistance for the waist except bodyweight, people use weights for sit ups, crunches ect. i think thats a mistake, more resistance means bigger muscles and i dont want my waist bigger. keep the reps in the high numbers and just keep going higher and higher reps, dont add weight, who wants that bloated mentzer or colwman abs that r ripped but stick out as far as thier chests?not me

Counterpoint: the smaller your waist, the broader your shoulders will appear.

No offense, but if you know anything about bodybuilding you shouldn't need to ask this question.
A small waist amplifies the appearance of making your shoulders, chest, back look bigger. Its not about the physical size is the "illusion" of size.
Most people do not analyze someone they see in the street, they take a quick look and make an assessment in less than a second. Someone with a small waist and large chest and shoulders automatically registers as being impressive. Someone with big shoulders, chest and big waist in clothes could be fat or built. Look at some pictures of Kai, in a jumper he looks like a fat lump.

A big stomach indicates being out of shape and visceral fat. Nothing looks better than big lats going into a small waist.
-
Translation: I need to lose some weight.

shitty ideal!!
lets get a fat waiste and small narrow shoulders!

Exactly, didn't do a single abs set since ages, i want my waist as small and not bloated as it is, don't care if i have visible abs or not... They're gonna came out eventually on my first cycle or when i diet down, that's it... Bodyweight at best, as you said, got to laugh at all those hardcore gym rats doing sets over sets of abs and obliques with weight, blocky shape and lines for everyone, lol... However, no doubt that a thick midsection looks more powerful...

The difference between the waist size and the external measurement of the shoulders is what creates the dramatic relaxed look.

do you really think this small row of muscles makes your waist big? moron. enjoy having no abs at 8% BF or baby abs like a skinny 13 year old

yeah blocky obliques look fukin retarded and anyone who trains them and considers himself a bodybuilder is retarded but a wide waist is 90% genetics
untrained abs look . like . shit.

x2. A wasp waist is too fem; I'll take beef with a midsection or a belly any day over a wasp.

ive always used no weight crunches,no weight leg raises ect for decent abs,if u get your bodyfat down in the single digits your abs will show decent with basic ab exercises
