1500 for my partner and 750 dollars for my daughter. Maybe it's excessive but I feel both are justified. What are you all spending on individual people?
-
$150 spa gift card for the wife, and some other stuff. Got the kids a few things each.
-
You'd sooner spend double on your partner than your daughter?

On Getbig?
12-15 million
I don't have a set amount. Nor am I going to waste my time shopping for her. I'll only get it wrong or pick the wrong fucking color or something so I'm not bothering with that pointless exercise anymore. Besides, I'd be stabbed in the neck before going shopping for gifts. I gave her my card and carte blanche to buy what she likes. That's for the big gifts. Then we're also doing stockings with loads of little things.
I swear, gifts and shopping are the curse of my life. I never seem to get a good long run of a few years where I don't have to bother with gifts

yes, that is very strange. with my parents, they always brought a lot more for me and my sibling than each other.
I know once you have kids, your wife or husband is no longer the most important person to you. Your kids are.
But after so many years of marriage, why still spend extraordinary amounts of money on each other? I mean, I can see where it would be nice, but as my parents got older, they are just happy to be together. My pops does not have to buy my mom expensive stuff after 35-40 years of marriage. He'd sooner spend it on his kids.
I am not married but this is what I have heard and seen from other couples.
Is this true for anyone else?

Agreed, I spent around 5x more on each of my kids than I did on partner, and always will. Would feel an utter cu nt if I did any different

Ive heard parents say that they love their children more than they love their significant other.
Would you say you love your kids more than your wife?

I know the question was for someone else, but the love you feel for your children is different than the love for your spouse, in my case at least. Wives/partners can come and go, but a real man loves his children forever and would give his life for them in a second.

We never got round to getting married but 100% yes, could never feel for a woman a fraction of the love I feel for my kids

My parents never spent more than $75-100 on any given Christmas gift for me. Spending more than that on a kid is just too much
-
Night at a strip club where all the girls are dressed as sexy little elfs and naughty santas.
....my gift to myself for being good all year...not sure how much it's gonna cost yet :) ;)

I always said the same till I had kids, but then it all goes out to shit and you can't help yourself and you feel like nothing's ever enough you always wish you did more.
I remember on birthdays getting a gift for around 20 quid and being over the moon with it, on my daughters birthday I let her have one of her gifts the night before and as she was playing happily with it I suddenly felt sad and imagined how shitty it would feel if I could only afford that one little gift for her.
Strange how it works

By "partner" it's safe to assume that the OP means his gay lover.

But see, if she's happy with the little gift. When you raise someone's expectations, it gets harder and harder to be happy with less
-
$200 and it's the only one I gotta buy.
Fuck going broke just to buy a bunch of dumb gifts nobody wants anyway... I told my family I was tired of gifts I could care less about and to raise the limit and buy for 2 people and get something worth getting.
