Title: The depressing decade
Post by: thegamechanger on December 21, 2014, 11:29:35 AM
If you could pick a decade which one would you pick?

Surely our time now isnt the greatest.

Whatabout the 60's, 70's, 80's or 90's?

I guess the downside is that if you were in your prime back then, you would feel even worse today being old or dead.

I'll split decades and go 1975 - 1985. Good music, good film. Lots of stuff going on in hobbies I enjoy. Reasonable open, yet still had common sense.

I`d go 1965-1980...............way better than the world will ever see again.

The decade doesn't matter, when you're immortal you're always in your "prime".

I guess the 80ies and the very early 90ies were the best times in fun and technology while the earlier decades where better in real life experiences of all sorts.
You can see it in the movies when the spirit left.

People just cared more about each other and had far better morals back in the day.

God....................I never met him!!

Of course we live in shitty times - it's very shallow and depressing, thanks to globalization and the ultimate mining of human and natural resources.
On top of that the lead that was given in earlier days has totally vanished. The system is now 101% corrupt and everything is upside down... this leads to severe depression and illness in sound minded people. The western countries which weren't absolute shitholes are now being transformed into such - thanks to decades of subversion.

On a brighter note - crisis means chance but it's a chance only for those in better places, access to ample goods and a strong community.
The times are very shaky because nobody got a plan anymore, especially in the west.

From 1960 until 2001 with 1983 until 2001 being the best. Before then I wasn't here, things after have largely been weak.

Late 1980's to mid 1990's was GREAT, very few cell phones and lots of REAL fun, not "Social Media" (Fartbook, Twatter, etc...)

The New Deal has been almost completely rolled back in these times.  The capitalist class is leaving the United States and western Europe for greener pastures...

So I guess I'd choose the 70's...the decade before Reaganomics (which we're still in by the way).

After 2001 as a whole Western society has been in a serious downfall. Politicians really started to push the Doom and Gloom propaganda...If you have kids today living in the west, the future isn't going to be pretty unless you're a sociopath with no ability to have empathy...
