That's a bit much...

The word "bear" ends in "ear."  His ear is reflected in the lamp.  Lamps are used for light.  God is the light of the world.  God is "dog" backwards.  Some dogs have fought bears to protect child family members.

It's all there bro

Behind the scenes with Jack Nicholson.

IMO, the real Jack Nicholson is just as scary as Jack Torrance.

Stephen King does this with numbers in his books , also few people know all his books are linked together one significant number he oftentimes uses is 19 you can find a lot of different scenerios where this has taken place in his short stories and books

So the director crafted all these scenes so years down the line they can be overlayed on Photoshop and match up with other scenes and supposedly mean something? I find it hard to believe this was deliberate. Do the same with other movies and you'd probably be surprised what you see by coincidence.
the shining is just ok to me, very slow, not enough happens. That bear man shot was always freaky though, very weird, never forgot it

Yes, all very interesting but WAY overthought by Kubrick/Shining fanatics. I'd bet my life 99% of the stuff mentioned would all be news to Stanley.

Right. The article even states that the bear could possibly be a woman.

It would be creepy if the bear represented Wendy.

I do know that Jack Torrence is looking into the mirror when he is looking at Grady.

It's as if Grady is actually Jack's reflection

Interesting. Never noticed the mirror thing, but it seems entirely possible. He glances away toward Grady a couple times, but mostly he's indeed staring at his reflection. Good eye.

Scene in its entirety:

Kubrick is known to do this. Every single movie he filmed everything had to be perfect...Kubrick tells stories within stories...Really into symbolism. Which now almost every director is...

I saw the documentary that told of how Kubrick had cans with Native American labels.... to support the fact that the Overlook Hotel was built on Native American tombs

That is Vivian Kubrick (Stanley’s daughter) shooting this.  In current money it costs 25 dollars a minute to run the camera she is using.  Basically an expensive home movie.  The completed film is 35 minute long.  The shooting ratio for cinéma vérité is quite extravagant.  Let’s say 20 to 1. (twenty minutes of footage for every minute that makes it to the final film) At 20 to 1 ratio that would mean she used 700 minutes of 16mm film stock.  Ignoring the post production costs, she burned up  17,500 dollars of film stock to make this.

Mere pin money.

It's the Dies Irae chant.  "The Day of Wrath."  Not as spooky at a jauntier BPM.

The shinning is of my of my favorite movies. Don't really care for the in depth look at the bear man or any of this other related s.hit. I just know I can really relate to Jack Nicholsons character in the film. When I watch this film I slimline it speaks to some dark side of me.

"I don't take kindly to disrespect. not on the internet, not in person, not in a grocery store parking lot, not at walmart, not in a restaurant, not at the beach, not at the dry cleaners... anywhere.

ppl talk about the 'pussyfication' of America, yet they run their mouths thinking they won't get slapped and get their arm broken in front of their friends.

spent many yrs in a place where if you talk slick and say something out of line to somebody, you know that when you say it, you better be ready for what happens. most ppl here in the 'real world', aren't ready for what could happen.. and run their mouths like the world is a make believe cartoon. despite wearing nice slacks, polished shoes and a nice shirt, the guy you steal that parking spot from at the grocery store and proceed to flip off, may have just gotten out of prison and will have no problem identifying they bitch in you and proceed to teach you a lesson by taking you down to the ground and kicking out your teeth before you even know what happened.

the guy who's willing to go the furthest, wins. if you're not willing to go all the way, it's best you keep your mouth shut and move on, and make it to the next day"
