I think there more than happy with the thought of some actual growth in consumption.
Oil prices have been holding a lot of things back for a decade.
It's almost like the reset switch has been hit and were going back the good old days of the nineties .
Food prices, travel, automotive, you name it have been held back by high oil prices.
If you guys are gonna obsess over Obama for a fucking decade you should atleast spend a month or two paying attention to this shit.
The actual economy for the last decade was shaped in part due to high oil prices.

(Reuters) - Saudi Arabia made deep cuts to its monthly oil prices for European buyers on Monday, a move that analysts said reflects the kingdom's deepening defense of market share, while it trimmed prices for U.S. refiners and increasing rates for Asia.
State oil firm Saudi Aramco cut the official selling price (OSP) for its Arab Light crude to Northwest Europe by $1.50 for February, putting it at a discount of $4.65 a barrel to the Brent Weighted Average (BWAVE), the lowest since 2009.
“The moves are reinforcing that the Saudis just don’t intend to do anything to rebalance (price) levels. They want to maintain market share," said Gene McGillian, senior analyst at Tradition Energy in Stamford, Connecticut.

I was reading an article on this very topic... turns out that Opec is over producing oil in the hopes of kill off American "shale oil" producers.
The American and Canadians and producers more oil and so Opec wants to make drive them out by lowering the price. Add to this that the Russians are over producing as well in the hopes to keep their economy afloat.
A long term strategy might be to start buying oil stock, it is pretty hard to predict the bottom, but I expect a rally in crude prices.

The saudi government is intentionally planning to fuck with global markets in a manor that is more powerful than any tin foil hat wearer can dream up.
The question of why no one knows, could be to reboot the global economy, kill american shale, destroy green techs from becoming stronger, to get people to buy more cars, or to show putin's who boss at obama's request.
The reality is it's no stretch to assume all of the above.

The Saudi's are putting it to the Shale oil producers who have a cost of production of $65 per barrel of oil. Every barrel of shale oil is losing money now.
